E93 M3.. should I?

Hi All

I am new to this sub forum. I am an existing BMW owner. I own an X5 45e Stage one with DME Tune, down pipe, custom exhaust and air filter..

My wife and I have been looking for a cute summer ride or weekend ride.. We have been checking many different cars and how now almost decided on a E93 M3.
It has 53.000KM ( 33.000 miles ) on the clock.. Only two owners.. First owner was an older lady who had the car for around 10 years.. Last owner has had the car for 3 months and wants to sell to get a Porsche instead.. The car has always been garaged and always serviced at BMW here in Shanghai, China

The car is in pretty good condition. It has a few small dents on the passenger door which is easy to fix.

I am having a BMW specialist check the car later this week, engine, transmission etc will get a full check up.

Besides rod bearings anything I should be aware of ?

Make sure the top is smooth and not creaky. If creaky you might just be able to apply lubricant and have it running good as new.

Yes correct. Here you can get a government plate holder or use no holder. Custom holders are illegal.

Nope you get bolts from the government place that issues plates. Those must be used. If not they deduct points from your license or the car gets in impounded. Hahaha actually just two owners. Three if we buy it 👍

You didn’t mention price or year. Is this car priced similarly to other e93 M3s or higher/lower? What year is it? Any idea what the oil change intervals were?

Three major things:
Rod bearings
Throttle actuators (usually get at least 70k miles)
Convertible top

Rest is pretty much standard maintenance.

Definitely have the DCT flashed to GTS software. Huge improvement over stock DCT tuning.

I bought a 2013 E93 M3 back in February, 45000 miles. Get it inspected, if you get a green light, pull the trigger - you won't regret it. Especially if it only has 33000miles and a decent price.

Hearing that growl with the top down does nothing but bring a smile. Enjoy!

Just got the report from a third party.. 99% clean only note was a small dent on the passenger side door.
Im now waiting for my mecanic to quote

He is suggesting the following to be done
Engine and transmission fluids change
Brake vacuum pipe repair
4 new tires.
He told me with just 53.000km I dont need to change rod bearings but for peace of mind I might just do that. He said I can do another 20K KM before i do that.

anything else i should consider into the quote..
I am looking for a bit more induction noise... But the Eventuri plenum is so expensive.. So might wait before I go that direction but any suggestions for more induction noise?

2010, registeret in 2011. One owner for 12 years second owner for 4 months ( selling to get a Cayman )
Well maintained.. 3rd party report came back 100% clean.
asking 30K USD keep in mind i am in china.. Its priced medium level.. seller already went down 4K USD.. Others are priced around 2K USD lower than this one but with double the milage.

You'll need a window deflector if you plan on female passengers.

Driven 33,000 miles in 12 years is about 52 miles a week. That's not much. While that sounds good, a car sitting for long periods of time is not good.

When your mechanic checks it out, make sure he tells you whether or not the car is throwing or has ever thrown any codes. Look especially for DTC codes 2B57, CDBF, CD93, U1141,U1140.

I am the original owner of the same car in red.

If the car is stock I suggest you leave it stock.

Good luck with it.
