supercharge your M3 and then run an alternator line from your car to your house ( well you can but you will only get about 150W..)
they cost about $80

Some MY2008 cars require a rod bearing update to safely run some supercharger kits.

supercharge the car. generators are getting cheaper every year, and you would use it so infrequently it's almost laughable. trust me, it won't affect your resale value either.

We were also caught without power for several hours but being avid campers we don't have to have much power.
You could consider a generator like one of these http://www.hondapowerequipment.com/p...&category=play We have the 2,000 watt version and it works great in an emergency. I am looking to mod out my electric panel to allow me to connect this unit, in my soon to be built garage, to power whatever we choose. This obviously has to be done with some reasonable consideration but will not come close to the cost of a supercharger. Also if you go this route you have to throw the main breaker or you will attempt to power the neighborhood or shock a linesman. |
