I would have check idle valve before fuel line sensors... but an idle problem can be caused by many things, that's what makes this diagnostic difficult.

@Move Over we need to get clarification if this is for the idle control valve or the throttle actuators themselves.....

Can you post a photo of the letter you received? And does it reference BMW Technical Service Bulletin "SI B01 03 16" anywhere in the letter?

Not this again.

This is NOT about throttle actuators. They are not covered.

This applies to the Idle Air Controller. Completely different part.

Pleeease stop spreading this incorrect information.

It appears to be by VIN.
The letter I got identified my car specifically. It does not cover a period of years or a series of VINs.

Also, the letter is "..extending the limited warranty for the engine's: Idle Control Device (Actuator)." No other part is referenced.

Yes, that's the whole point of emissions warranty coverage. 7 years 70k miles, if you live in the few states covered

Open up your warranty booklet and there's a whole section on what is and not covered under CA emissions warranty.
Great info. Thanks!

FYI this is vin specific. Not simply by Year. I have a 2011 and just asked my SA and I'm not covered by the extension.

Another member on here has a 2011 that's covered. Any idea how they could be choosing who is covered and who's not?

Bump for the same question regarding how they're determining who's covered??

Bump for any sort of clarity around which cars were seemingly randomly chosen to be supported by an extended warranty and those that were less fortunate
