evolve-R remote cable - now reading and clearing DTC's

As promised when we first released the evolve-R cable, we have now released v1.18 which reads DME fault codes in hexadecimal format with descriptions.
Also clears DTC's including shadow memory.

Paul will be along tommorrow with some screen shots.

Everyone that currently owns an evolve-R gets v1.18 free of charge.

Paul will send everyone the link to download. If you don't get it just contact him and he will send over the download link.

Next..... datalogging....

Thanks for the update and all the help Sal!

I am definitely excited to try out this new OBDII scanner feature! I just fixed the EGT on my E46 M3, so hopefully no codes will pop when I scan it using the evolve-R tomorrow.

I honestly CANNOT wait to try this on the E90 M3!

Guys,

As Sal has mentioned, the evolve-R remote tuning device now also has a code reading and deleting function!

This function is exclusive to the evolve-R! So we can now tune remotely, tune the latest protected software and read/remove any fault codes.

We believe it adds more value to the product, but importantly it's an ABSOLUTELY FREE upgrade to all of our existing customers and is the standard version new customers receive.

Please see two screenshots below:

We have been asked before why we decided to go with a laptop based solution rather than handheld, well this would be a good example on how we can easily upgrade core functionality and distribute for free to our customers.

We hope this goes some way to illustrate the continued dedication to our M3 customers.

Our next project is a full datalogging suite - which will also be a completely free upgrade

Very cool feature! It's nice not having to hook up a different scan-tool / cable to clear DTC's after a flash (particularly for preexisting codes).

Now all you need is data logging

The car adapts to its conditions and stores these, though it then goes through further checks quite regularly it still retains quite a lot of the base information. When loading in new tunes it also helps to clear the adaptations, so the ECU can adapt to the new values quicker and to its full potential. Great for things like testing purposes or when updating tunes - or for new customers it allows them to feel the full effects of the tune straight away.

Was a bank 1 lambda sensor so may have overheated the O2 on the track last time out.

Sal at evolve said they tend to get cooked at the higher track temps. Will clear code tonight and see if it stays gone or not.

Definitely an interesting feature. I had some odd battery violation code (forget the exact text). I need a resource to figure out what some of the codes mean now.
