Botched "Atlantic Blue" M3 ED makes Jalopnik

In reference to this thread: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=842479

http://jalopnik.com/internet-unsympa...y-pa-509231773

"So I absolutely and completely feel for b-thumper. I do. It's just important that we all learn a lesson from his forum post. No matter how right you are, or how wronged you've been, if you complain about some part of the experience of owning an expensive car on the Internet, forum users will pour out of the woodwork to criticize you. There is utterly no way you can describe being handed the keys to a new car to take on a lap of the Nurburgring and say "I wanna cry" without people thinking you're spoiled.

It's just the way of the Internet, and we should all remember that."

Hopefully this additional attention helps to make BMW agree to a good resolution in the near future.

Any update from the OP?

well, it's very easy to have NOT spent $80k and sit back and tell someone he's spoiled, or first world problems...etc.

I mean, at the end of the day, payment was provided on a product, and the company didn't deliver. Sure this wasn't like critical medical supply or whatever, but there is a major emotional attachment to a car purchase. Until those Honda fanboys on Jalopnik have experienced a significant purchase instead of a $9k civic, then we're in the same ballpark...

btw, the comments thus far has been positive.

truth2k05 got his wish, he has been banned...that was a fun follow-up thread though...lol Earth shattering day of events on M3post yesterday!

Yeah, but until you drive something other than a civic M3 are you really qualified to offer thoughts on this matter? Let somebody with a real M3 weigh in please..

I somehow missed this whole story. That's brutal b-thumper. Hope things work out.

Remember that you're only justified in feeling disappointed, and expressing that disappointment if/when you have not worked hard for something, and it's dirt cheap.

Lol, you're right all us civic owners are really 2nd class citizens here.

I checked under my hood, and noticed the lack of a M3 logo stamp under the hood. should we just create a new sub-forum just for civic M3 members then?

Yes, and then subdivided into production dates. I'm 03/08, so you should really think about continuing this exchange with me. Your cred could drop.

Not sure if this applies to everyone but I would sugguest not expecting everybody to understand or feel the way you do when you post. Honestly hurts. But it's really up to the OP to decide what and how much to share with a bunch of forum strangers. Personally, I would never share something that I feel sensitive about on any forum. I would just keep it between me and GOD. Maybe my wife too. Maybe!

Believe me I get it. Our cars means a lot to us. But expecting another BMW driver to understand what you feel (just because they own the same car or not) without being negative is risky emotional business.

Perhaps we should keep some things in the closet.

I'm hoping he'll chime in with an update. Any way to tag a member so they get a notification?

Now the car is officially one of a kind limited edition. Own "that" car on from Jalopnik.

Did I miss something in that thread? I thought the majority consensus was that it was entirely unacceptable. The whole first world joke is just that, its a joke.

I don't give a shit if its a Tata Nano, I wouldn't order a car and then take delivery of the wrong color.

WTF are they talking about?

I wonder if the members who chastised b-thumper for spending $80K on his M3 are also the ones that give Powerbeast the thumbs up on his E90 build (which no doubt is already north of $80k)? Now that would be ironic...

Terrible experience for b-thumper in the end.

The price paid for a product is irrelevant. If I paid $5 for a cheeseburger and they gave me a freakin' chicken sandwich, I would send that sh*t right back!
