End of production yes, but this car will live on strong in the aftermarket and car lovers world.

Ok Thats what Iwas hoping to hear. At least I got truth from dealer that I could not order one. I found exact car I wanted. I just thought if I ordered it I could have found a dealer willing to get me closer to my last lease of $850 instead of $890. Thanks
I wish I would pay that amount. Here in Puerto Rico my M3 2011 was $71,500 US price PLUS Taxes that blew the price up to $96,100.

So I pay $1,399.80 for 60 months and the residual payment of the lease if I want to keep the car is $32K. :-/

Damn excise car taxes. :-(

Sure I am going to miss this generation M3s,
the engine was simply the best engine I have ever driven as a daily car.
Amen brother
Not really looking forward to the next generation
Kind of pointless really
E9x you had your turbocharged variant in the 335
And you had your NA variant in the M3

Next gen will have 335 and 335 "plus" in the M3/M4
Shame really
After owning 4 M3s, this is where me and the M3 must part ways
:'(

I am in nj but screwed cause I drove it home already is that right. The dealer pressured me into it and I knew better. I dont wanna return it just wanna use the 3 day policy to argue with them. I thought it was 3 days or something like under 100 miles on car. They tried telling me they had to pay another dealer for car and need to get me signed right away. I am just real pissed and its all me fault I should know beter
But why return it? You already knew that the E9X have already come to an end this year.

Purchase an M3 to return it in 3 days?

I have the same view - the NA high revving engine in my M3s with the upgraded suspension, wheels, etc. were the main arguments to buy an M3. Now there is one less argument in my book and I am happy I picked up a new M3 in 2009

Here in Canada, base car starts at 72k. Fully loaded is around 89k plus 13% taxes

Nevertheless, I ended up picking one up a week ago. Can't wait to drive a high revving NA car.

Probably mid to late next year when MY 2015 starts.

Just about. The 128i coupe, 328i convertible, and other naturally aspirated variants of the E82 and E93 sold elsewhere around the world are going out of production along with the E93 M3. However the E88 1 convertible is likely to remain in production a bit longer. In addition, the N53 is still available in some countries in the 730i and possibly the 530i too.

Oh, and if we are being nitpicky, there is the range-extended version of the i3 with the scooter engine although only the electric motor drives the wheels.

Edit: Ok, so according to BMW, the 1 Series coupe and convertible have already been out of production for months. So, for the US market, it appears that the S65 is indeed the last naturally aspirated BMW engine produced.

Good info.
I imagine the last BMW ever produced with a N/A motor would have some collector value ..

I'll own this car for the longest I could. It's by far the best car I've ever owned. This is where me and the whole new generation of BMW apart.

it even goes beyond the all motor part. this type of high revving n/a style of engine is going extinct across the board in all a cars. hopefully the exotics will retain them.

Isn't the 1-Series Coupe still in production? When the N52 in the 128i gets dumped, then that will be the last naturally aspirated engine BMW will probably ever make.

Probably until 2020, when you buy the last year of the F8X, and call it "legendary."
