So what's the wager that everyone on this board has put at least 20% down on their M3?

Would you condemn all those who have leased then?

I find no real fault with those that finance items. Heck, their business fuels a few of my investment positions. I just don't see the logic of financing certain things for extended periods of time, perhaps even beyond their serviceable life.

When the OP asked what represented the best option for his cash, opinions will naturally differ. I would offer there is merit in getting rid of debt, but I would at least shop his current loan rate to effectively improve the terms, if possible. In the end it is his cash, but when one asks for opinions, they will naturally come.

Sorry my friend I can't sell the kit until I get my new car. I can't drive this car NA after having this kit - it makes the car so special. Would totally loose that feeling. If you are looking to wait until the end of summer it is yours!

If you are trying to get a kit soon I can't say enough good things about this Gen 2 kit. If you want to spend the extra $ it is definitely worth it over A preowned Gen 1 kit. Start with even a Gen 2 Level 1/2 kit and you'll be thrilled. I have driven the big competing kits and can say its the best without a doubt. Be careful of people stating their opinions and claims that haven't even driven other kits! I've said on many threads and will continue to say anyone that wants a friendly feel of the kit is more than welcome to take my car on a nice drive. Just meet me at my convenience obviously.

If for any reason you are planning a trip to NY come by for a test drive! I'll show you the finest highways Jersey has to offer
Nik I'm in no hurry.
This summer would work out perfect if you are willing tho.

It's just that you offered the sale to me...

^^^This. You understand how the car is with this. Man this is going to be a tough sell . Should I just cop a 7 series AWD and keep the M3 to solve my dilemma?

Aka_phox,
I thought maybe I could go a few months without it but no way I would be able to drive this car without it. I apologize for misunderstanding. I can definitely keep you posted throughout my new car purchase so we can work something out. You'll understand the feeling when you have it in your car.

Nik;

That is exactly what I said to my tech yesterday when we saw you were selling! No kidding.A 7 series and the AA Gen2 S65 for more fun. The F01 is amazing and so is the 650 gran coupe.

Well I've been driving around my Mom's 550GT AWD which is based on the 7 series platform. Power bump too so 450hp 450lbtq in a wagon ish looking BMW lol. Very fun smoking people in that thing. Well I was driving it around more to see if getting a 7 series and keeping my M3 would work but nope. It's just too dull. Maybe once a week or if I'm really beat but not a good option.

Regarding the E63 I have always liked AMGs on paper but have been hugely disappointed after driving them. CL63 was very boring, same with a C63. With that being said, I don't think the E63 with the boring AMG automatic will end up doing it for me. Will give it a shot so no regrets but an F10 M5 is probably going to be the winner. After driving the GT I realized I really wan't something in the middle of my M3 and the GT...sounds like an M5 to me.

Been driving my father's Masersti GranTurismoS too in order to get a feel of a regular automatic transmission with paddles. It just isn't there. I'm very dissapointed in AMG and Audi RS7 for sticking with a regular auto. Even if they shift at the same speed just the feel makes all the difference. The new E63 reviews have praised the AWD handling but all said the transmission sucks.

We'll see but LCI M5 is the front runner...

I didn't do a single mod before my car was paid off in full!
I've owned the car for 4.5 years and its been paid off for the last 3 years of ownership. It's liberating not to have debt on a depreciating asset.
Note: my interest rate was 5%. If it was 1.9 or something I wouldn't have accelerated it that much. It all depends. I just hate having debt.

Anyway this summer I was itching for something new. Nothing under 100k really floats my boat so I opted for the 585 kit. Should be a blast!

Dance with the devil.... Please god don't do that.

Either pay off your debt and pay cash for your toys, or at least just pay cash for the supercharger and leave your car loan alone. Don't put anything on a credit card.

What you should do is put it all towards the car to elimante debt, but I have a feeling that you may still do otherwise.

With that said, as others have likely suggested, meet your demons half way and put half towards the car and half towards mods. There are some blower kits selling for under $7k with the tune

You should buy my brand new VF 540 which will save some money. Put the rest on the car. At my price you can get into the highest VF kit under 13K.
