Welcome! We have a great group here in Houston - lots of ///M enthusiasts and all of us are as nice as we are crazy. (Nice color choice, BTW!)

Check out the Houston ///M Club threads in this forum and join the Houston Chapter of the BMW CCA!

We have a lot of activities for you: MSR track days (to get your ya-yas out on a track instead of the street), autocross, car meets, tech sessions, Car Control Schools and fun local road trips.

Where in Houston are you located?

Too cool! It looks like the ///M Club will be reserving some MSR track time [tentatively] the morning of July 23.

Forum moderator rldzho is the organizer of the ///M Club MSR events. He'll post in this regional forum once he gets it finalized.

BMW CCA is having a tech session Saturday up your way. If you're thinking of joining the Houston Chapter, PM me, and I'll see if you can attend as my guest. Maybe they can get your car up on the lift!

Welcome!

There's a new 1 series M in our neighborhood.

She's gonna get the ESS tune that'll put her at 400 HP and 406 ft-lb of torque.

so ive got a question that is prob not worthy of a new thread bc im sure theres a million of them, but can someone answer me this:

coming from a 335i, a tune was one of the first things i did and i freakin loved it! i know that car is turbo and gets more bang for its buck from a tune but what kind of tunes are available for the M3 and are they worth it? I dont mind a piggyback or a flash tune just wondering if anyone in our area has one and what they think of it.. or should i go with exhaust first?

I don't think the $800-$1000 you spend for a tune is worth it standing alone. Now if you get a mid-pipe, exhaust, intake, and then the tune, it's worth it. Always try to get the tune as your last mod. But if you ever plan to super charge, then it'd be a waste to get a tune because that tune would be overwritten by your super charge tune.

Hunter is a member on here, Pm him about upgrade options at motorwerks here in houston. They have done all mine from intake, xpipe, exhaust, pulleys and tune. Good work from them.

Driving the M3 from Houston to St. Joseph, Missouri on Sunday. I'm looking forward to fourteen hours of pure bliss each way (even while going slow through Oklahoma).

I was gonna take the whip from St. Joseph out to Richmond, VA to attend a family wedding, but the drive back to Houston from Richmond would've been 22 hours non-stop. The wife nixed that idea.

I got 21 mpg highway last month going to Kansas City and back.

Seriously, heading through MO/KS/OK, OK will have the highest limits .

I was back home in Delaware at the same time a Houston friend of mine was picking up his C6 Z06 after having a ton of mods done (don't ask me why he shipped his car to DE to do it).

He made the drive from DE to OU's homecoming. Left Friday night, was there for the tailgate in the morning.

22 hour drives might be fun when you've just added 200 horses to your car, but it prolly gets old fast
