You do not need to disconnect the battery.
If you get stuck, feel free to PM, E-mail or call me, I will walk you through it. Malek

Thanks for the help with the front strut, i got stuck twice since it was my first time installing springs for my car, I spent a good 8-9hrs doing the install with my gf's brother and some help from my dad.
I had to phone for some help a couple times (Thanks Malek and B) but in the end it was a good learning experience, should take 1/4 the time if i have to ever do suspension work on my car again. Will post up pictures after i get my alignment done.

You do not need to wait. You can align the car immediately.

hey bud, I'm curious about the one part where you have to press it in... Did you have trouble with that?
I haven't attempted mine yet, probably will do it this weekend. Thanks

Yes, is a press needed to remove the stock perch from the front shocks?

just make sure you have another person to help you remove the perch and reinstall the kw perch. a press isn't needed but make sure you have some pieces of wood and a hammer to get the kw perch back on the OEM struts.

Just did mine too. I didn't have much trouble removing the OE perches. Just used a hammer and a blunt brass punch.
Installing the new perches was a bit more interesting for me, because it wasn't really clear how far they needed to go down. I was expecting to feel solid resistance when the sleeve reached it's final position, but I stopped when it felt tight and the top of the sleeve was basically in the same postion as OE, which was about 1/8" below the black plastic cap on the strut. This ended up being way off as it goes down about another half of an inch from there. It's hard to tell in the picture below, but there's a good finger width gap between the sleeve and cap. Quick note on height adjustment - don't worry about setting the right height in the fronts right out of the box. They are very easy to adjust with the wheel on just by jacking the side up. The rears are going to harder to adjust. You can use my picture as a reference as it resulted in a 3/4" drop in the rear, which was perfect for me. |

turn the strut upside down and don't be scared to to hammer it out, make sure you turn it back and forward when on each hit.

I waited for a couple of reasons. I wanted to let it settle a bit and decide on a final ride height. Didn't want to throw the geometry off and degrade the handling and feel by going too low. Besides, I wanted to make sure I didn't scrape anything in daily driving. Nothing worse than having trouble getting out of your driveway or office parking lot.
