Auto Turn Off Power and EDC Settings When Vehicles Starts???

Hey guys! I just purchased a 2013 E92 and am in love with it...by far the best car I have owned. I have a done a bit of searching around the forum and haven't found an answer to this question. When I start my car, it defaults to auto mode on the transmission but has the Power and EDC systems turned on. I would like them to remain off when the car comes on and only become engaged when I active M Mode. Is this possible? When just driving around town I want the car to be as docile as possible and then completely change, as it does, when I want it to. I have searched in all the settings menu's (maybe not hard enough) and couldn't find anything. Thanks ahead of time for the help!

Go to M menu and either options button or move the iDrive knob to the right to see/update the default startup settings for power and EDC.

Welcome bro!

You need to take a quick peak inte manual mate...but for a starter; the power and EDC start up setting you change in the optional menu when you are on M menu, or push the iDrive button to the right from M menu. Once changed I believe you need to lock/unlock to get it into key memory. Observe the 2nd key may have a different setting should you use that.

The default D mode is not possible to change but hardly a big deal to swop over to manual with knob or paddle (also not a bad idea to start of in auto as you want to keep down rpm while cold anyway...)

Good luck!

That is normal for US spec cars. The OP must have a DCT tune which is why it starts in D. Helmsman is from Sweden which has Euro DCT and that also starts in D.

The best part about the DCT tune is that it saves your last used S setting
