Actually some of your problem could be vacuum leak. So yeah, fix the exhaust before you replace the O2 sensors.

So here is the update, after fixing said leak i drove around for about a day. During that time frame the SES light went off, and the next day it came back on. The only two things that changed was the fact that i put gas in the car, and that the weather got significantly cooler and dryer. Hence, i am now leaning towards me needing to replace the oxygen sensors (upstream). Thoughts?

Did you pull the codes? What were they? Check for vacuum leaks around the intake. Check the plugs, one by one. Try the small and cheap stuff first. I still say that you might have a coil that is going bad. See if the same cylinder is at fault. Let me know.

The car went in and these were the codes pulled:
27BB AND 27BA -- Fuel system Lambda
2722 Fuel-pressure sensor, signal
2786 Plausibility, fuel-pressure sensor, to mechanical pressure regulator
2B3B and 2B48 cyl. 7 misfire and exhaust

We replaced the cyl. coil to address the misfire. The shop is telling me that the fuel pump control unit has gone out. It has been ordered and it should arrive today or tomorrow. I am tempted to swith the low pressure fuel sensor before the more expensive control unit. Thoughts?

I would too. Because a lot of the time, you can not return a special ordered electrical component. The low pressure sensor is not that expensive. Let me know.
