Speed Ventures @ Auto Club Speedway 11/19-20

Hey guys, Speed Ventures got a track event & autocross on Nov. 19-20 at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana. I've never been on this track so not sure what to expect. It seems to be so exciting driving on a actual racetrack that NASCAR uses not to mention it is closer to home from the OC. On Sunday Nov. 20 there is a "Import Face Off" drag event going on too. If you been to this track before, please chime in on your experience. I hope to see more ///M's out there too.

I'll be out there with my brother on Sunday the 20th most likely. Not sure if my car will clear customs in time to make it to the event, but he runs his E92 M3 there regularly.

Speed Ventures is a very casual group. The events are mellow and fun. They run cars in groups based upon experience. You can have passengers too which is nice.

The track is great. The oval is certainly the special part and is slightly intimidating. The rest of the course is cool, but there isn't any elevation change or anything.

If you end up coming out say hi to us. His M3 is white and he uses the stock 18s for his track set up.

It's the most fun raceway that I have been on. There is a good variety of slow, medium and fast speed corners. There is actually slight elevation change when you are going around the Nascar part of the track, but no hills or anything like that. You are definitely gona have a blast!

I've got a 20 lap session w/ LA Racing @ Irwindale w/ their NASCAR car (something I signed up for a long time ago thru Groupon) on Sat (11/19) morning. Wonder if I can swing over to Fontana and do a 1/2 day there?

We'll be there Sat, Sun or both. Lots of fun for sure. I'll have the white E92 M3 with stock 18s mentioned above. I'm going to try and fit a black bra on the front of the car this weekend. Come over and say hi.

There was a bizarrely sudden shift in the forecast yesterday; it was like 70% chance of rain in the morning, and then early afternoon it was suddenly down to 20% with partly cloud.

Still surprised they cancelled this far (relatively) out?

All the weather sites say no rain this Sat & Sun. Looks like it might rain on Mon the 21st in some areas.

Send Speed Venture an email confirming Sunday's cancellation and it is definitely canceled. Not sure why they canceled it so far out. Must be a low sign up or something. Too bad I can't make it on Saturday. Have fun and post up some pics if your going on Saturday.

Yep. Saw that car on the way out of the event. Car looked pretty badly damaged. Bummer . Even after watching that a couple times it's kinda confusing as to how that happened.
