I only use the console shifter for down shifts when the steering wheel has a lot of lock....its avoids confusion.

Why is the HVAC control below on the 6 speed car?

I see that the HVAC control are below the audio controls on the 6 speed car, and just the opposite on the DCT car.

Why is that, I have not seen this before?

one has navi, one does not. no navi if hvac on bottom.

The 6spd car doesn't have navigation. Thus the layout is a little different.

I find myself using paddles when going spiritedly and the "stick" when cruising. But even when I'm on the paddles, it's second nature now for me to reach over and shift with the stick. It's mostly only when I'm making a tight right turn from a standstill, like at an intersection.

I have a 6MT and mum had a DCT, funny thing is I always use the paddles because I like the different experience.

I have a lot more fun with the MT but they both rock for different reasons....
