Exclamation Buying a E90 M3, Pointers needed!!!

Hi guys,

I have joined the forum over a year ago and is finally ready to pull the trigger on a pre-owned M3.

I am looking at a 2010 CPO Jerez Black 4 dr M3 manual with Executive and M Drive, NO EDC. The car has 53k kms and CPO warranty until 2016. Basically it's this car:

http://www.bmw.ca/ca/en/usedvehicles...tml?id=E202126

What's a reasonable price that I should get it down to? I am thinking 58k OTD?

Also anything in particular I should look for? When I went to see the car, the engine oil was low but sales guy told me it was normal for the M3 to consume some oil?

Btw anyone know whose car this was? How was this car taken care of? There seemed to be a lot of swirl marks on the paint.

Thanks,
Shu

Just out of curiosity, are these the options that you are looking for in an M3?

I recommend a coupe (http://wwwa.autotrader.ca/a/BMW/M/TO...howcpo=ShowCPO...

...but since it looks that you are looking for a sedan...

...the price seems a bit steep, but it's also coming from a BMW dealership. I had a good experience with BMW Autohaus, having purchased my '02 M3 there. Take a look through Autotrader and equivalent to see comparisons. You can probably pay about $10k less for an equivalent kms car that's likely a bit older, and have that money aside for potential repairs, if you're also considering warranty.

All M-car engines do eat oil-- approx. 1L per 5-10,000kms, so nothing special there, though a bit surprising they would have it like that to show.

The E9x cars are pretty solid, so nothing particular to look for that I know of.

Good luck on your search.

Well, what I really want is a E90 M3 with no EDC/DCT or Nav. Just a strip version with 6MT, but I can't seem to find one.

wow. I am thinking $55K OTR. Max

Even at that, I would not even deal with Autohaus, they are bunch of clowns.

Seems like its at the going rate for this car. I don't believe BMW will go lower than Two grand max.

I dont like Autohaus, but I did buy my first BMW from them.

If you can get it from them, just go elsewhere for servicing.

If you can get it for $55,000 then do it.

I also had a Jerez Black M3, be prepared for swirls galore...detailing is your life saver.

what about this one from TCBMW

$48K list ... seems very reasonable to me for a 4 year old vehicle

I would look for a 2011+ just because the cpo for 2011+ cars are identical to factory warranty and it does not require a $50 deductible. Ask your sales or SA about the difference between 2010 and 2011. As for the price, it is way over priced imo

If so, the sales person must be static that you took their bait. Anyway, enjoy the ride

Yeah, it's the black one. I went to check out the 08 one at T&C, lowest they can give me was 50 all in and it had 2 previous owners. So this is 8k more with 2 more years warranty, LCI, newer Idrive, 2 year newer as well. So I took this one.
