New BMW Owner: 2012 Frozen Silver E92 M3

Hey everyone, new owner here. I know it's a bad time to get one since winter is coming lol but I think it was a good deal from Porsche Centre Calgary and it'll be going into storage soon.

BTW if anyone knows the previous owner, please let me know how I can get in touch. I'd just like to see if I can find out more about the history.

Nice! Congrats on the pick up. IIRC, there was a Frozen Silver for sale locally, too... Maybe you missed out on it?

Frozen Silver is by far my favourite on the E92. I miss my old one very day.

I did see that one but the mileage was a bit high for me and I wanted one that was not winter driven since I do not intend on winter driving it either.

My fav M3. I was following it on autotrader and would of got it if i could. The timing was just bad for me.
Few hours ago i actually found a video of this car on youtube from Porsche Calgary. Sadly it was gone so quick. Now i know who has it.
When this silver bear decides to wake up after the winter nap and if by any chance you would want to sell it, keep me in mind.

What are you good to use for car wash supplies? I picked up Dr Beasley’s and am happy so far.

Not sure yet but I'm going to get some ceramic coating done first. I might go with Chemical Guys.

Is there a special kind of ceramic coating for matte paint? Let me know, I thought no coatings allowed as they add shine.

well what i was planning to do anyway was to put protection film on the car. Not sure if it is worth it in your eyes. I guess on the film itself you'd be able to do lots, plus you'll have the protection.
also, search more here or on youtube. May be there are other ways to take care of the paint. That video is 2012, may be something came out for the paint since then

+1 annoying it would be and if it's scratched a pro has to respray it I like the look though.

Dr Beasley’s has a special matte coating that looks interesting. I might give it a whirl.

You can do ceramic coating on a matte finish. At least one shop in Vancouver does it. Personally saw it on a Mercedes.

I have a frozen white and I’ve used/tried dr.beasley matte prescription kit, chemical guys matte products and BMW wax for matte finish. By far the best result I got was BMW wax, and it last easy 6 months with weekly wash.

For wash and day to day cleaning I use the chemical guy products. They’re very affordable and effective. Dr.beasley stuff works well too, but for the price I rather stick with chemical guy and BMW wax.
