Exclamation Which pulley kit?

AA Singnuture Pulley Kit

Or

Evosport Pulley Kit

Both kits look good but any suggestions?

Thank you.

Both are great setups, we will actually be doing a package deal with AA on their performance parts including the pulleys if you are looking to do more than just those as an upgrade.

Will installing a pulley kit affect warranty of the car? will I run in to problems with maintenance and my dealership?

Considered installing this mod as well

No single modification can void your warranty altogether. The dealership has to prove that the modification caused a problem with your car so they cannot refuse to fix the radio because you have pulleys. With that said, if you install these incorrectly and it causes damage to the engine, that obviously would not be covered by BMW or the pulley manufacturer. These pulleys are a very straight forward upgrade and are compatible with the stock components so you won't have any issues but make sure the dealership does not cop out on warranty claims they are responsible for just because you have pulleys.

There's a 3rd choice: Rogue.

Rogue Engineering - Power Pulleys - e9X M3

We always have these in stock, those that are in SoCal are welcome to drop by to see them in person.

You'll be fine. The Rogue pulley also retains the factory hex drive adapter to give an OEM appearance.

My apologize, Rogue included. Makes the decision even harder.

OP you have been PMed.....

Even though developing this pulley design was one of the more simple products we have had to create over the years we did not take any shortcuts in the R&D process involved in creating this power pulley kit... We had the same goal in mind when designing this pulley kit which was offering our customers the perfect combination of performance and reliability then inviting them to "Come Play With Power". This system has been dyno tested, track tested and goes through an extensive coating process to ensure longevity and durability. Our R&D process also includes working with our partners worldwide to ensure optimum performance in various environments. After weeks of testing several pulley sizes our engineers decided on our current size, some smaller designs created overheating issues and some other pulley kits have proven not to maintain the harmonic balanced characteristics of the factory design. Active Autowerke has been in the business for 27+ years and will continue to design and support the best in BMW performance products for the true enthusiast.

Best Regards,

p.s. CatchM3 please stay in contact with Nick from JleviSW for more information on the product!

Evosport is currently working on a DCT pulley using my car. It seems the 09's have a new type of pulley for the manual as well that is similar to the DCT so this new pulley will be necessary.

I'll add a 4th to this list. That I think most people will be really happy especially with its coming price point. It's not going to be as expensive as the others and will be readily available.... we'll have the RD pulley kit very soon.

Right now we have the AA pulley.

We will be posting the RD pulley on our site in about a week or so.

Does the tension on the belt supplied with the pulley kits need to be adjusted or is it just a matter of swapping the pullies and putting the belt right on? Any install instructions available?

A new pulley belt is included so you do not need to adjust the tension.

Here is active's install guide: http://activeautowerke.com/pdf/Product77.pdf

Pulley will come with replacement belts, the tensioner will compensate for the difference.

It's a bit of a trick question as the pulley doesn't really add HP, it frees up HP by reducing the amount of parasitic drag on the engine caused from the accessories.

Here's a picture of the Rogue pulley:

Dyno:

Expect about a 7-8hp increase after installation.

So is there a pulley kit that works with DCT? I remember reading that one fell out of a DCT test car. I'd prefer to avoid that from happening.
