My 2011 only has 13,500 mile on it. I drive it everyday to work.

The M is a great vehicle and I'm proud to say that I DD my ride. Sometimes I wish my car was DCT so I could have other people in my life experience the joy. Strange thing is I never thought I would say that haha

I like putting the miles on it. It feels like an accomplishment, like I am getting my money's worth.

Of course loved detailing it.

Re: Depreciation: I sold my car for almost what I paid for it new (Little over ED invoice). She was exactly 2.5 years old with only 5K miles..... My previous 335 had a very similar story as well.

Keep on beating and tracking your cars people, it makes the garage queens that much more attractive..... (just kidding)

Overall, people buy their cars for different purposes.......

To answer Op's question: Yes, I loved driving my M3, did not mind putting miles on it and LOVED the fact it was not my DD in Seattle traffic.
So why'd you get rid of your M3? Just curious.

That's actually why I love my 6MT. No joyriders. And the very FEW people that I let drive know the consequences of messing up my car. All of them went away with big grins on their faces (some BMW people, some not).

I am packing mine for a 600 mile round trip to Knoxville for work. I dont think twice about trips like that and it beats driving a rental. It's just too bad that its so cold up there otherwise i would be billing out double the mileage.

Also, I didn't mean to make it sound like I thought DD'ing your M3 is odd. Not in the least. It is perfectly usable and capable as a DD, however I personally did not buy it with that in mind.

I sincerely apologize, because if i lived in the NE, I wouldn't have anything near the caliber of an M3.

2008 with 29k mi

had the car initially in NYC, which largely explains why the miles are relatively low for the year. it's my DD in LA, though i'm seriously thinking about relegating it to weekend duty and picking up a beater. it isn't really a mileage concern - instead, there isn't anything even remotely practical about grinding through LA gridlock with a 414hp V8 engine that isn't exactly fossil fuel friendly.

Since the plan is to keep my E90 ///M. I see every mile as a trophy or an achievement if you will. Like, look how far I've gone... If i want to look at something, I'll go buy a painting, in terms of a garage queen.

Shut up and
