New east coast carrier for 2012?
Hey all....maybe I missed this in the tracking guide, but I don't see anything about this company....
I'm anxiously awaiting a 2012 E92 and have been obsessively tracking it since the order went in. I live in Philly, and the car is coming in to NYC/NJ. It finished production towards the end of September and arrived in Bremerhaven on 10/2. I anticipated that the car would make it on the 10/5 (Toronto) or 10/12 (Mignon), which are both operated by WW. The BMW phone/website tracking has said that the car has been in port ever since (although these services appear to be very spotty). Thinking that the websites were just behind the times, I tried entering the VIN into the WW website to no avail. Finally fed up by all of this, I emailed my CA today and she mentioned that her system said its still in the port as well, but it is assigned to a boat from Mitsui OSK lines (http://www.molpower.com/htm/default.htm). I've never heard of this company prior to this and haven't read anything about it...anyone else? Is this under the umbrella of WW or is this a new company? From marinetraffic.com, the boats look like container ships, as opposed the drive on/drive off WW ships. So maybe less time outside or chances of damage. Anyway, just wondering (and slowly becoming insane from this whole process).... |

FYI...
Just stumbled upon this old link from 2002... http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/arc...hp/t-6918.html If this is true, then WW may be at capacity and contracting with other companies for east coast deliveries...maybe because of 2012 orders. So I assume the VIN tracking may not work. FWIW, the shipping time for Mitsui is a couple days less than the WW boats (less stops). Just in case anyone else is looking for their car and isn't finding it... |

Ha. Thanks. All signs still point to my car still being at the port. I don't get it.
Anyway, in the meantime, I've managed to purchase a set of diamond black TE37SLs, some all season tires, and am working on the grill, side markers, and reflectors. It provides some distraction from the wait and the work I actually should be doing. |

my car wasn't shipped with WW either. I was on the Florida Highway last month, but it looked exactly the same as the WW ships.

That's a K-Line ship. My car came over on the Bosporus Highway, K-Line as well.... You can't search by VIN but their website does have intineraries you can look at/print for when the ship departs and arrives at various ports.

Yea I was able to track it fine. It's been at the VPC exactly 4 weeks as of today. It has to be one of the longest periods that someone's car on here has been at the VPC.

Yes, I've seen your posts. Sorry to see you caught up in this new MY fiasco!! Not sure why I quoted you as my response was more a general informational posting for those looking at various shippers to the east coast...
