M3 vs Dinan 135 on I-75
Had a cool sounding little white 135 with no badges but a black "Dinan" on the trunk lid. Had to try, ac on, my 105 lb Akita in the back and I got blocked in the left lane(Imagine that in south florida) changed lanes, pulled up and he nailed it. I was in 5th @ 70mph so, downshifted and, away we went. I was pulling on him until I decided to stop at, let's say, well above the limiter speeds and then he decided to leave. Funny experience. Fast little car that Dinan prepped 135 was. Still, walked on him at WOT

It's purely academic where I live, because of dense traffic and law enforcement. But theoretically speaking, wouldn't FBO cars be very similar?

*straight line only, yes M3 still dominates on a track unless there has been significant upgrades to the challenging car, like m3 suspension. No I am not saying the 135/335 is a better car than the M3, just stating what I have personally "observed". |

Just sharing an experience guys, it definantly had a Dinan Exhaust and , with the way I wasn't killing him, I'm sure he had a tune also since we were above limiter speeds. Also , saw in my rear view a FMIC in the center.

Stock 135s and 335s have fmic from the factory.
My Cobb tuned with aftermarket fmic 6mt 335i felt similar in speed to my stock m3. My friends Cobb tuned with aftermarket fmic 6mt 135i was a good bit quicker than my 335 and probably is faster than a stock m3. A fully bolted on 135i would be a tough race for a bolt on 6mt m3 IMO having owned one.

from personal experience a fully bolted and tuned dct m3 will be a good race for a fbo+meth/racegas 335.......6MT M3 will have a much harder time doing so, theres a significant difference between the dct and 6mts in a straight line

I have never understood the concept of judging a cars performance based on it's mods compared to a car which is stock. I would hope the 335/135 twin turbo 6 pushing 10-13 psi modded is going to be faster than a factory stock 4.0 M3
However have the m3 generate 10-13 psi through forced induction and it's going to produce more power and generate a much nicer powerband.

I think the 135 is like 3-4 hundred lbs lighter than e9* m3 also so it only needs like 340hp to keep up with stock m3 in a straight line.

To the wheels yes. 340 crank in a 3xxx pound car isn't going to equal 113 mph traps lol.

I used to own a FBO+meth+JB4 135i.
No way in hell is a M3 even close in the straights! Unless it's a 100+ roll, but the tq of the 135i makes up for it. On a track however, the M3's suspension geometry shines...and LSD REALLY gives u the confidence to drive. |

Doesnt the 1M have like 340 hp? doesnt it have the same 0-60 as E9* M3? Thought I read that somewhere.
