Just ordered my M3!

i went to a san diego dealer last night and he told me (probably a lie) that BMW cut down production by 60% to keep the prices up. i couldnt get nowhere near invoice

Nice...how did you find out your pickup date already? The BMW site and hotline didn't tell me squat.

Whoah that's pretty bad. I ordered mine on Feb 24 and I'll pick it up around the 23 April. What makes SoCal different ?

I ordered on the 27th of February, and it went into production on the 5th. If it wasn't for the delay at the port I would have the car by mid-april.

WTF!?! Beginning of May...really? Any source on this?

Well, If you already got a production allocation, I don't see why you would have to wait until May. Double check with your dealer and ask for a production week, this should allow you to find out exactly when your car is going to be produced.

Wooohooo!! As of today.....just moved from "On Order" to "Scheduled for Production" on the BMW site.

Not sure how different that is...but some change is better than none. I'll take it.

Mine had no delay, finished production on the 6th of march and arrived at the dealer near Chicago on the 30th. Also was surprised that it boarded a truck the same day it arrived at the VPC in South Car.

I just went into staus 150, production this morning. I ordered on March 12 and the car will be done production April 8. 5 days to build.

We are all on the assembly line together ... mine started production yesterday with a completion date of 4/9. Are any of you doing the PC delivery?

No, Just regular dealer delivery. My current car is being trade assisted by BMW. I heard Performance Delivery is great.

Actually faster then I expected. I guess this is the hard part of the wait....car sits at the port waiting to get on a boat. I've read of cars waiting at the port for a month.

Keepin my fingers crossed that it doesn't take too long.

Nice!! I made my order just a few days ago so I still have a long wait time. My dealer has to trade one of the allocations for a M3 allocation before they can even place the order. Long wait but it gives me time to get some parts in.
