Give me a ring - sounds like a perfect setup for me to start with.

Made some headway today retrofitting BMW Apps/Connected Drive/BMW Live/BMW Online on a 2011 car with combox that was before the BMW Apps cutoff.

More to report on that after some more testing. But initial testing looks good. Connected to BMW App on the iPhone, displays car data, Facebook, etc

I am going to respond to email's/PM's now. Sorry for the delay.

Julio is a tech at a BMW dealership, and was the first car I retrofitted BMW Apps/Connected Drive to yesterday. He has scanned the car's systems after my coding and found absolutely no traces.

So for those of you looking to have this functionality added to your combox equipped car, please let me know.

No hardware changes, wiring changes or anything like that. I'm happy to be able to offer this coding service to those that have combox but didn't get this option installed from the factory!

And now time for me to upgrade my CCC to a CIC so I can get these great features too!

Julio: Thanks for the oil change and the work you did to the M3 while it was in for service. It's running great!

There are a few more features I managed to enable, I will try to update the coding list soon.

Yes, Julio's car did not have 6NR at all, and after my programming and coding it now does.

Also, he doesn't have the BMW cradle in the armrest, so it's working through the USB Y adaptor that the car comes with

Here is a great video that shows BMW Connected Drive capabilities:

Oh yeah! I forgot I left yours on the digital setting so you don't have to use the analog audio.

you are supposed to use the white cable..IIRC 2010+ or maybe it's 2011+ models only require the apple oem white cord, not the bmw 6fl y-cable..

Any update to the MDM coding? I have a 09 M3 with iDrive (6MT), no MDM or M button. I would be very interested if MDM could be coded to work for it's DSC modes and tighter steering. I'm curious about the steering, though. Is it not a hardware thing?

Sorry for slow reply to emails everyone..

Been very busy lately. Made some serious headway with the coding flash drive in the last week. Everything fits on an 8GB flash drive It's almost ready to go, just wrapping up some finishing touches.

Now that the flash drive solution is almost complete, I can send one out to test for the MDM/M Button features. This makes remote coding quite a bit easier as only a flash drive and cable need to be shipped as opposed to a netbook. I will be updating the site and writing a FAQ in the next week or so, and then the first batch of flash drives will start shipping.

You will have the option of keeping the flash drive for future remote coding needs, or sending it back. Also need to update the coding list with new features

Mike,

Is it possible to change the triple blink on the turn signals to maybe four or five?

Yes - should be possible. Need to check in the code, but if I remember correctly, a year ago I coded one to blink 7 times.

I just placed an order with Amazon for 20 flash drives.

If you are interested in coding and are out of state, please contact me.

You will need a Windows XP/Vista/7 laptop, a decent WiFi connection, 1GB of free RAM, 10GB of free harddrive space. The space will be reclaimed after the coding is complete.

Mac users, same spec but you will need VMWare Fusion software also.

PS: 20 emails left to go, all that emailed me will receive a response later today.

Thanks,
Mike
I'm interested in the remote coding for the m-button / MDM function.

Still behind on Emails and PM's

Getting a lot of requests for BMW Apps/Connected Drive retrofits - it will be offered for remote programming once the flash drive solution is completed.

If you didn't get a response to an email/PM, please sit tight a couple more days as I am under heavy work load.

(I will reply to unanswered forum posts too in a couple days)

Thanks!
Mike

Move your slow ass over when using your blinker!

How dare you take more time than 3 blinks!

Haha

I was tying it yesterday, and I think 3 blinks is actually a little short, unless you are making an abrupt lane change. 5 blinks is perfect I think, that way you can alert those that you are going to change lanes, change safely, and then have it turn off. I find that with three blinks it's off before I'm completely in the next lane. Only problem is renaming it in the iDrive to "Quintuple Blink". Sounds cool!
