I had to pay more over the cost of the regular Lux. Lux doesn't normally stock this color so they had to special order the 5000k LEDs to make it for me.

They are the same brightness. The only difference is the light color.

Okay, some people wanted to see daylight shots of the 5000k Lux. I'll give you one better.

I went to an autocross today and a photographer took this picture of my car while I was lapping the track. Totally untouched photo in bright noon-time sun. You can definitely see the Lux 5000k.

is there any way we can get a price for the 5000K version?
becuase if its much more, i might just buy a set of used 6500K from one of the people who have the 6500K and want the 5000K

Great pic!

I am hoping LUX gets back to us with pricing availability of the 5000k version.

EK, have you also thought about using 5500k? how did you conclude on your 5k setup? do you think 5500k will still have the blueish tint to it?

I'd prefer a more pure white look. I just bought the 6500k kit and installed them on my car yesterday, and now this thread pops up
It is not definite yet that we will make these, it is only an option for now.

We would be purchasing a smaller quantity of LED's so the price would be a bit higher, however we will look into our options for this.

we haven't looked into pricing yet, but we are more just gauging the interest at the moment. if we make 50-100 sets of this color the price would be very close within $5-$10 we expect

According to Lux, there are only a select number of LED colors available. Below 6500K, they could get 5000k or 4000k. 4000k would look like the stock halogen H8 (halogen bulbs are typically 3500k) so I went with 5000k. If you want 5500K, your best bet would be the AngeliBright LEDs - they come in 5500k.

Lux charged me $40 more to get the 5000k color over the regular price.

I would be interested in these subject to learning the final price. I don't know about the practicality of getting in on a group buy though as I live in Canada.

Yeah the LCI angel eyes have a definite blue hue to them...I actually don't think they look that great.

I don't think that is true... the color matches the HID almost exactly when both are on. Also, they don't have any blue or coloration in the light it emits. 7000-8000K would have a purple color.

Sorry, didn't take any pictures of those combinations. If you search, there's a lot of pictures of stock and Lux V3 combinations.

Here's someone else's picture.

That picture has the 6500K and the stock halogen bulbs.

6500K and 5000K are both "white"... it's just a matter of "white-white" or "blue-white". Really comes down to personal preference. Compared with the halogen bulb, they'll both be a lot whiter and brighter.
