I thought I had recently seen a comparison between several high performance tires but can' t find it anymore. I think that the NITTO were ahead of the Michelin...but behind some Dunlops...

Has anybody seen this?

Well, for starters, the PS2s are NOT track tires, which is what your thread title refers to. PS2s are street tires, and quite frankly are NOT suited for extended track use. They are prone to rolling over and overheating, thus becoming slippery. A true track tire is made to handle high temperatures for extended periods of time without rolling over and losing their grip. So what is it that you want? The best street tire suitable for track use? The best track tire suitable for street use? Or just a track tire? There are a number of differences between the two, such as type of constuction, materials, rubber compounds, tread depth, and life span.

I have a similar question and you seem to be the person to answer it: I'd like to find the best "track day tire" (at an affordable price) that I can use sparringly on the street (i.e. driving the car from my house to the track on the same set of tires without having to hassle with changing tires when I get to the track). Is there anything out there that will suit these needs? We occasionally run on wet pavement here...so that should be conisdered as well.

Thanks!

Nitto NT01 and Toyo R888. I use the latter for track and autocross.
