Question regarding colors - Silverstone Silver Metallic, Melbourne Red

Hello, I am a newbie here considering placing an order for an M3.

I am wondering what the Silverstone Silver Metallic is like?. I remember seeing M5s that were an "off-silver" color with a very subtle "baby blue" (for lack of a better description) hint - definitely not a plain vanilla silver. Is this color Silverstone?

Googling M5 color option history doesn't seem to indicate any other silver or off-silver color aside from Silverstone.

How about Melbourne Red? Has anyone seen this color in person? bmwusa.com has it listed as a metallic color, but how metallic is it? Or how close to a pure "fire engine red" or "candy apple red" is it?

Thanks in advance

Please look here -- http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=56911 for a list of color threads where you'll see plenty of examples of Silverstone II.

If they were the latest E60 M5 then yes.

By the way, some of the pics don't show Silverstone correctly. In my opinion these are the best pictures which show Silverstone correctly.

SSII looks good in these pictures. I wish it was like that always.

Melborne seems to have some brown in it compared to Imola which was a deep blood red in the shade, a bit orange in the sun. My old car was Imola. Always looked best in the shade.

Also, don't confuse Silverstone with Silverstone II. They are two different colors.
