I have a Sport and had the AA Xpipe. It was loud inside and outside the car. I went back to just the Sport and couldn't be happier.

The Race is louder and has a drone at highway speeds so beware of that. It is nice but it is not as civilized as the Sport. No drone at all on the Sport

I think for a change up from stock the Sport is the best solution and still keeps the car a decent DD

So if I want a nice "quieter" sound, yet more noticeable than stock Sport is the way to go. If I add the X-Pipe and HFC, ho will that effect the sound...?

Ok so from loudest to quietest would you say

Eisenmann Race w/ X-Pipe and HFC
Eisenman Race
Eisenmann Sport w/ X-Pipe and HFC
Esienamann Sport

Are connecting pipes required and or make the install easier/better?

TLUDs analysis of the sport is dead on.

Sounds about right to me. The sport with xpipe may be just a little quieter than the race, based on info from this board.

Connecting pipes are not required, but it will certainly make the install easier..plus you won't have to hack up your exhaust. (if you sell the car in the future, you can just throw the stock exhaust back on without having to reattach it, etc)

I have to agree, I've had my race for awhile and it seems louder. It took some getting used to, maybe being a girl I'm not as used to this as you guys. I still am happy I got the race, it you're going to do it, then either should be fine but the race has a great sound and gets a lot of head turns, especially from guys when they see a girl behind the wheel!

Nope, it's just loud. I'm a guy and I'm not sure I'd get used to it on a daily driver/road trip vehicle.

The Race gets a little quieter after a few tanks of gas.

I think if I were younger, I could live with it...'that's the sound of Freedom' and all that shit. But I'm not so full of piss and vinegar any longer. Call me mellow.

Eisi Sport is perfect for a DD, IMO. Will set off car alarms in a parking garage, but not that loud when driving. Far better sound and appearance than stock.

Man...all these posts saying that the race might be too loud for a daily driver is making me worred. Don't know if I should get it for my M3 when I get it now. I really want to hear it in person though. ><

If you're in LA, it should be no problem to hook up with owners of both versions to hear in person. That's the best when spending that much money.

I agree.....I listened to a Race in person before I decided it was a bit loud for me and went to the Sport. When you spend almost 3K for an exhaust, I would highly recommend you listen to it in person not just clips on the internet.

I have Eisenmann Race, it is not obnoxiously loud, it doesnt even set off any car alarms in parking structures unless you really try.

^^ +1
It isn't as loud as most people make it out to be. At first, yeah it was a little louder than I anticipated, but you get used to it. You'll love it. RACE FTW

Driving in S4/S5 mode and feeling/hearing that engine uprev on the downshift is just unreal with the Race.. Plus driving through tunnels are fun (in my case sky harbor airport ha)... My wife missed the Race exhaust too so she was glad that I had one put back on.

For whatever reason the Race I have now doesn't seem as loud as the orignal Race I had inside the cabin. I don't know what the difference is, other than my original was missing the rear hangers from the factory.. (IND fixed this ASAP and I was very pleased with the quick response, this is how I ended up with the Sport because they made me a new exhaust).. I can still have a normal conversation in the car with no problems.

Both are great exhausts, I guess it's just personal preference...

Stick to the Sport though if you don't want anything too loud.
Your wife is a keeper!

I have the Sport with a Fabspeed X-pipe, resonators, secondary cat delete, and high flow primaries. I was at a shop where a guy had his stock front section/Eisenmann Race setup. In the lot, mine had a deeper more powerful tone. The race was bassy but without the hit you in the gut tone from opening up the front. I question in daily use whether there is a big difference in sound. A few of us thought my car was louder and more powerful sounding.

Seems maybe the Sport plus the aftermarket front section may be more powerful sounding, even if a few db quieter. I can say I have no drone issues, but she screams when opened up.
