Part Number for ESS-625 K&N Air Filter

Hi,

My Air filter fell off when I hit a small animal.

Anybody here know the Part Number for ESS-625 K&N Air Filter?

I wanted to order from ESS but they want to charge $40 just for shipping a simple 2 pound Air Filter and think it is daylight robbery. Just out of principle I will not order it from them.

Thanks

I bought a new K&N RE-0920 from amazon for $50 shipped. Fit perfect.

Just looked at my k&n box as I installed a 625 kit a few days ago. RU-1785. They are on Amazon for 55$ with free shipping for prime.

Interesting that they changed to a slightly shorter round straight filter versus cone. Probably fits better, the cone filter is a tight fit against the fender liner.

The filter is a pretty tight fit for sure. I don't know if they changed the intake pipe or replacement duct at all. Side note does anybody run the sock on the filter? I was thinking of finding one for it.

I personally would never run a filter that is susceptible to getting soaked without a water resistant sock. These are around $20.00...

Has anyone tried both the RU-1785 and RE-0920? Any improvement in fitment or does the RU-1785 still push up against the fender liner?

i assume the RU-1785 is going to fit a lot better. it's 3.5" straight through versus 4.625" tapering to 3.5" for the RE-0920. that should improve some clearance issues. i haven't tried it personally though.

That doesn't even look close. Do you have pics of that on the car?

How is that the part "you should be installing" when I received a brand new kit from ESS with a RU-1785 weeks ago. Clearly ESS doesn't make their kit for that filter.

After searching for a filter sock for the RU-1785 I found it. I contacted k+n and they do not have one but reffered me to Outerwears. 20-1938 is the part number for the Outerwears sock if anybody wants it. I am getting it to repel the water from my now low hanging filter.

Good tip. Where are you buying it from? I don't see it on Amazon.

I know the thread is a couple years old, but I reached back out to ESS and K&N to make sure the information above is still accurate. RU-1785 is still the correct K&N filter part number and K&N still recommends the Outerwears filter sock as they still don't make one for it.
