Oil level question

Probably just me being dumb, but it is my first bimmer.

Just got the car yesterday...oil level was perfect driving her home.

Started up this morning, and display was still on oil level....it basically was nonexistent.

I assume this is simply because it was cold and the sensor doesn't work for a few minutes, but just wanna be sure it's not an electrical gremlin. I searched on this but didn't really see this specific topic addressed. In fact, a lot of people had "max" level readings on startup, so it made me wonder.....

Appreciate the feedback

Takes a few miles before it's done thinking & then it will register.

I got an alert to add 1 qt & did so. Took about 20 min for the results.

Electronics need to go to dipstick school.
