New Shoes Need Info On Tire Size Help The New Guy !
So I am finally going to be pulling the trigger on some Breyton wheels I have decided to run 20" due to the company not making the wheel in 19" This makes me very nervous becuase I am worried about rubbing and all that bad stuff.
the wheels are as follows: 20x8.5 + 20x10 this is what I am thinking should work for tires : 255/30R20 + 285/25R20 Let me know what you guys think about this set up and if it will work. Like I said I really dont even want a 20" wheel becuase I am so concerned about rubbing, but God I love these wheels, they are not offered in the states and are being imported from Ireland so I need to make sure this is going to fly thanks for the help! |

If you don't want 20's then don't get them... If you're going to get 20's I would recommend that you get something of a higher quality than Breyton's. BBS, HRE, Volk, Advan are all good brands.
As for your tire sizing... I would go with 285/30/20 for the rear. A 285/25/20 is too low of a profile (it will fit but there are better choices). You can fit a 295/25, 305/25, or 285/30 on the rear of an M3.

Thanks for the advice, I love the wheels and dont mind 20 on the car. My roads are perfect straight flat and no bumps or pot holes. The car is also not a daily driver so it sees limited use, weekends, and some spirited drives after work.

I think it's because the tire size topic has been discussed numerous times on this forum.... I'm surprised you didn't get the usual "use the search function" response. A couple of us suggested 285/30/20 which is probably the best option. If you want to be sure that you don't have any rubbing you need to tell us what the offsets are on the wheels you are considering. I suggested a higher quality wheel since you are running 20's (something lighter and stronger) and you weren't interested in considering other wheel options. What else is there to say?

Only thing I can add: 275/30R20 also works on the rear of the M3, although 285 probably covers a 10" wheel better. 275/30R20 is recommended to fit 9 to 10 inch wheels though, so it would be appropriate.

No I am glade someone spoke up I did not want to buy the wheels then get them on the car and they look like hell and rub, the only reason i was even considering it was becuase the sales guy was telling me how they put those wheels on M3 all the time, he never once told me that i was going to have to run spacers until i ask what the offset was. Looks like I just need to get my big boy check book out and pick up some HRE
