Another KW Sleeve Install
Install was smooth with minor complications. I had new michelin super sports installed last week and noticed a small ring layer of something around the outer edge and assumed it was some new tire coating coming off. Turns out i was rubbing a little in the rear *before* lowering the car (had 15/12 spacer set up F/R). Weird this rubbed given stock rims and tire sizes and so many running this spacer setup. Lowered the car and obviously i started hearing the rubbing more, mainly on major highway dips and bumps.
Upon inspection, its very minor, no real damage to the tire or car, but on bigger dips/bumps it was rubbing a little and slowly grinding away the plastic hump in the rear wheel well where the rear bumper meets the rear quarter panel. You can run your hand around the inside of your rear wheel arch to see what i'm talking about. Anyway, it kinda ran its course (tire rubbed itself enough clearance... sounded dirty) on the right, and then i gave it a little help on the left by jacking it up and filing down that plastic hump a little more the driver side. No fender rolling or real modification. I'm too stoked about the results so i plan on leaving it as is (same drop and spacers). Did about 3/4 inch in rear, inch in the front and the look is night and day to me. No rubbing issues in the front. Got it done at Spec Motorsports in McKinney (North Dallas). Great guys and highly recommend. sat 29 by morganjd1, on Flickr sat 28 by morganjd1, on Flickr sat 34 by morganjd1, on Flickr sat 33 by morganjd1, on Flickr sat 31 by morganjd1, on Flickr sat 27 by morganjd1, on Flickr |

That is weird, although I've been hearing this from a few people lately. Looks great though!

Nice! Mine with KW/SO's and 10 mm spacer in rear was rubbing liner and inner bumper lip. I switched to a 5 mm spacer, but prefer the look of the 10 mm. 2nd pic was taken under full compression (angled on driveway) to show rubbing.

I had wife, two kids, and suitcase in the trunk and it rubbed just once or twice on a 30min highway jaunt. I'm gonna roll with it but keep an eye on it. |

Michelin Super Sports in stock 265/35-19. Could be alignment except the alignment actually feels better than it did before lowering (smoother, less vibration etc). The plastic hump protrudes so far out that I don't know how anyone avoids it with even mildly aggressive fitment. Remember I was rubbing *before* I lowered it. The plastic rubbed off on the tire and left this grey ring of plastic that I could easily peel off with my fingers. I obviously got more of that after lowering, but it just wore down to a level that won't seem to rub any more (and didn't seem to do any material damage to the car).

I am rubbing in back too. Stock sized Pilot Super Sport 265 tires on 219M 18" stock wheels and it rubs on the plastic fender liner with 10mm spacers.

I have since reduced camber front and rear (-2.4f/-1.8f) to get more even wear on PSS's and NT01's. I have not yet tried 10 mm rear spacers with new alignment.

Just cut that piece out and trim the little metal/plastic flange behind it. Enjoy your 10mm spacers

Add me to the list of requiring more modification on the driver side, which is weird as my passenger side seems more "tucked". Springs on the driver side are usually a little higher to compensate for driver weight from what i understand. Insert driver weight joke here.
