'07 E92 M3 - Condensation in Headlights?

Hi All,

I was quite disturbed the other day when I walked past my car in it's garage and saw a fair amount of condensation in both head lights. It was cool, about 10 degrees C, but still, to my mind there should be NO moisture at all in what are sealed units (I think).

I saw it again today and took some pics. as you can see below.

Has anyone else seen this on their beasty?

yup.
did u ever disassemble your head light cover?
i know that happens when you don't tightly put it back on (thinking that condensation happened inside).

No. I have never had the headlights apart or out of the car. Nor has anyone else. The car has never been in an accident or anything so they are as they were from the factory.

That means that your gasket or seal around your covers of the headlights are broken. The only way to fix that on this is replacing them. I do not think that you can take the clear cover apart unless you heat the headlights to break the seal? Maybe somebody else can chime in.

Better your headlights than your watch!

the rubber seal might've been defected.
take it to the dealer, it should be covered by warranty.

well he is in new zealand. might be different warranty policy there. for instance in europe, its only 2 years unlimited mileage and no free maintenance. US is only place I think that has the 4/50 warranty and maintenance. maybe canada too. likely he has to buy new headlamps. time to find a good independent mechanic that can maybe fix it.

Yes I just picked up my use 07 coupe yesterday and the same thing happened, was raining a bit last night and as I parked up I noticed some condensation in both units.

Will take it to the dealer to fix under warranty I suppose.

I took delivery of my car in May at the Welt for ED. When I took re-delivery in the US, my driver side headlight had condensation inside. I brought the car back in to have it replaced. So yea, you are not alone.
