OP, you might want to read this.
http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=546195 Hope that helps. Well, if it has to be a vert, try F12 650i. I'd go with Z4, but it's a 2 seater. There's nothing wrong with E93 M3. Saying E93 M3 is a fake M3 is like saying all men drive stick. I guess F1 drivers are all girls.

My times on the track are similar to some E90/92s, slower than some, and faster than some. Most events allow an e93 since it's a hardtop with a built-in roll-over protection. You probably won't be breaking any records, but you will have a lot of fun at 7-8k RPM Sick car but I doubt he wants a soft-top

For me, yes. C63 is even faster then a Ferrari 360 in straight line so give you a ballpark how fast it is. M3 i dont have to say much, handles really good, excellent track car.

And there's some '04 and '05 Gallardo's on sale for just under $100k that I'd check out. Not too many though but if you can do $100k then you'd probably be able to do $110k which is the more populated with cars than the >$100k range of Lamborghinis.

I came from an E93 M3. That thing is just a great all-around car! It's got enough space for those Costco runs, a style that turns heads, the V8 with an exhaust note just to die for, and the top-down drive is amazing!
If you want to take it to the track, don't let anyone tell you that it's not a "real" M, and that it's not a track car. Bullocks to that! It is AWESOME on the track!!! Besides, there's no better improvement for the track than gaining track experience |

It's a very easy decision. Sell the C63 and get an M3 convertible and a GT-R. You'll get the vert that you want (and something that is still a shit load of fun) and the GT-R replaces the C63 which it destroys in all categories anyway (namely use in wet/inclement weather)...it looks much better than the C63 as well IMO.

Although many would consider the M3 too similar to the C63, I think they're plenty different in personality, so the M3 is our current top contender. The wife is pushing hard for the E93 vert, but I'm more interested in performance, so I'm leaning towards the E90 sedan (with which I can get the competition package). My question, again, is how different are the E90 and E93 in performance? I've read messages posted in multiple forums and several reviews, and the result is that I'm confused. Some say that it's hard to tell the difference between the vert and sedan on public roads, whereas others say that the difference is substantial (skidpad numbers seem to support that) and complain that the vert isn't good enough. Have any of you had a lot of experience driving both cars, ideally on both road and track? Or does you know of a really thorough review which compares the two in detail? |
