Smile How much would you pay to rent a 2008 M3?

Driving around So Calif. I always see these exotic car rental places. There are a few in Beverly Hills and there is one across from LAX. They rent all kinds of exotic cars: Corvette Z06, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Dodge Viper, etc.

Here the question. If you found an exotic car rental place that rented out the new 2008 M3, how much would you be willing to pay per day?
And would you pay a little more for the M-DCT vs the 6 speed.

What would you do and where would you go once you rented the car?

Unlikley

I think you may find an odd ball M3 at a very large place like this, but it will be the exception to the rule. These places thrive on true exotics like Lamborghini, Ferrari, etc. and recognizeable US super cars (car...) - the Z06 Corvette. A 3 series BMW, even an M3 with an engine worthy of an exotic, a DCT and a CF roof just won't be showing up at too many of these places.

Well said, and I completely agree.

You'll probably never see an "M3" part of an exotic rental fleet. Neither the M5 nor the M6 can be rented to my knowledge.........

Would be cool though.......

Yea, Ive seen M3 convertables at many rental companies($299 a day0. The 6 series convertable is a lot more common though($399 a day). They usually give you 100 miles and charge between .50 cents to $1 per extra mile.

Okay, maybe the M3 doesn't fall into the "exotic" category like Ferrari or Lamborghini. Lets say you were driving past a car rental agency and saw a sign on a new 2008 M3 with a CF roof and M-DCT that said "Rent Me." The first 200 miles were included, how much would you pay per day?

Not sure I'd ever pay to rent a car that I could just go test drive. Exotics are basically impossible to get a test-drive in unless you know people at the dealership, or can convince someone at a dealership that you could actually afford to buy one.

Some of the replies are ridiculous. The man asked a simple question. If you don't want to answer it, then go be negative somewhere else!

And btw, getting a test drive on the new M3 - and in most cases it will be a brief one - will probably be a bit of a hassle, unless you have a connection / good relationship at the dealership.

$300.

not if you have a deposit down on one. since you insist, here's my stupid answer to a stupid question: i wouldn't pay a red cent to rent a 2008 M3

Kishg, you've managed to come across as yet another generally disgruntled J*rks who has to throw in some irrelevant 2 cents while *grudgingly* posting a reply to this post. Get off it. If you don't want to reply, then, guess what? Don't reply! And don't ya think that maybe some folks out there would want to drive a car before putting a deposit down?

I walked in jeans and t-shirt and got one. And I'll do it again. It was no shorter than any other test drive. These are not exotic cars. They are priced about the same as an Escalade or E550. Anyone can test drive one.

FWIW, you come off way more negative than kishg in this thread. For one he's using smilies, and for two $0 is a legitimate answer if the OP is looking for genuine opinions.

And I never said that "$0" is not a legit answer, it's the other gratuitous, self-serving BS that got me!

If i was never going to buy it, then id pay $150 max to rent one for a day. I think that would be a fair price.

this thread sounds like a business inquiry to me... are you planning on starting a business that rents M3's?

$250/day if I could get it in SF -- my brothers and I kept our folks place up north on the coast, and driving up there in a M3 would be priceless. My wife would pewk though.
