VAC Motorsports | E92 M3 Weekend Warrior Build (track ready!)
12/10/11 Status
Went drag racing again. Ran a best of 10.69@129.38. 11/26/11 Status Went Drag racing. Ran a best of 11.11@126.99. 4 DEs at NJMP in 6 days on street tires and street pads. Time for new tires, brake pads, a front bar and better suspension 8/9/11 Status: 2008 BMW M3 DCT- Weekend Warrior Engine: VF Engineering VF620 kit Braking: Front: Brembo 365mm 6 piston Rear: Brembo 345mm 4 piston Suspension: Nitron NTR R3 3 Way Adjustable Suspension kit Nitron camber plates Exhaust: Fabspeed resonated X pipe Fabspeed MaxFlo Muffler System Interior: VAC Race Seat Installation Kit 2x Racetech RT 4009W Wheels: BBS Motorsports RE-1243 18x9.5 (21.5 lbs) 18x10 (21.75 lbs) __________________________________________________ Hey guys, I would like to introduce our current project: Weekend Warrior. This daily driver came from a true enthusiast who had no problems dialing in suspension, installing a race seat, bolting on race wheels/tires and kicking ass on the track. Now that we own the car, we are dedicated to keeping the spirit alive while taking it to the next level. Goal: build a big HP E92 with excellent braking and suspension upgrades that will see heavy street and track use. This is the beginning of a long journey, but we plan on having it together for Bimmerfest East. (2 days away :\) The car will change over time, but we will not lose focus of our initial goal. Of course, we waited till a week or two before Bimmerfest to get the project rolling The car came to us a while ago with some serious front end damage, so we had to get our body shop cranking. After some hard work, the car was buttoned up and ready for the race/performance shop. 8/8/11 Wheels BBS Motorsports RE-1243 18x9.5 (21.5 lbs) 18x10 (21.75 lbs) This is a true Motorsports wheel but an affordable flow formed variant. They accept center caps, but not TPMS sensors. Again, best for racing. BBS standards are 10x what OEs require, and we are beating them around the mean streets of South Philly (pot hole central) just to see how they do. These wheels have seen a ton of track abuse so far (see Grand Am Mustangs) so it made sense for us to choose these affordable wheels for our weekend racing adventures. This guy ran 13 more laps after a serious impact. 8/6/11 Bimmerfest East was awesome. Can't wait till next year! 8/6/11 VF Engineering VF620 kit is on - more to follow. Bimmerfest bound in a few hours 8/5/11 Interior Upgrade VAC Race Seat Installation Kit 2x Racetech RT 4009W We had to get the car ready for a DE or club event, so 2 high quality, comfortable and affordable seats were necessary. We added our wildly popular Race Seat Installation Kit (floor mount adapters, superior side brackets and sliders) to ensure we and the new seats stay in the car :-) This kit works VERY well. Racetech has quickly become one of our favorite race seat lines, and the 4009W (wide) is the perfect seat for daily/track use. The shell is incredibly rigid, the padding is just right and the price is fair. FIA homologated, yet more comfortable than many OEM seats. Absolute win. 8/4/11 Brake Upgrade Front: Brembo 365mm 6 piston Rear: Brembo 345mm 4 piston We offer excellent solutions from Brembo, StopTech, Performance Friction and many others. Why Brembo for this project? a. (the obvious) Excellent performance, legendary quality, perfect fit/finish. b. Great brake pad compounds supplied with the kit. Infinite brake pad alternatives if you tire of the supplied units. c. We found that Brembo kits seem to weather the nasty elements best. PA and Philly highway depts love to overload our roads with corrosive crap. We have installed brake kits on daily drivers up here in the NE on everything from 2002s to 740s. A number of these cars were seriously neglected (true daily driver status), but the Brembo components never faltered. Finishes, hardware, calipers, rotors etc. all seem to hold up the best. 8/3/11 Update: Quick summary of the body and paint work performed: a. unibody restored to factory spec b. upper left frame rail sectioned c. rad support and all cooling systems repaired d. fenders, hood, bumper cover, all reinforcements replaced e. all pulleys, oil filter housing, water pump replaced f. engine/trans/mounts/crossmembers – replaced g. the car was completely disassembled/painted/sanded/polished Note: Spies Hecker paint / Wurth calendar We have a number of significant performance modifications scheduled for tomorrow...so stay tuned! ps. I'm excited to be a sponsor on the Post sites. We have been everything BMW for ages, but this is really our first serious effort supporting the forums. If you have any questions, PM/Email/IM at any time. Thanks!!

Nice! I can't wait to see what unfolds over the next few days. This is my kind of build! Something durable for the crazy streets, yet still sees a lot of track time
