New BMW watch for birthday

Friend got me a watch for my birthday. I don't normally wear watches, but I like the ///M logo on this one. This is how it looks like.

One thing though, since I don't usually care too much about watches, and this one didn't come with a manual, anyone knows that the indicators at the very outside edge of the watch is for? It reads from 0-200 with 1 small red mark at over 30, 2 at over 65, and 3 at over 110. I don't get the function for it.

Thanks. Don't know where to get it. I don't think its too expensive though, probably around $100 range, but I like it a lot. But I still can't figure out the markingson the edge, can't be depth cuz there are no gauge to indicate how deep you are. Also, this is suppose to be a F1 driver's watch or sumthn so I don't think how deep you are comes into play Only thing I can think of is that its marking where you should shift . The first red marking (with one stripe) is at slightly over 30 (31mph, shift into 2nd?), then 2nd marking with 2 stripes is at around 65, 3rd one with 3 stripes at 110... I don't know.

Those markings on Chronographs usually have something to do with computing your speed. It should be referenced in the manual. My guess is it's for timing 0 to 100 km/h speeds.

really good pictures of the watch by the way. Did you take them yourself?

Also, can you post a little more info about the watch? ie- manufacturer, model #, etc.

Ya, I'm guessing its something about speed, but can't figure out what it is. I didn't take them, my friend sent them to me from where he bought it I guess. It was a gift, so not sure what the model # and other stuff are.
