Why would you ever resist an officer at all? Unless you're trying to hide something/did something wrong? Even if you DID do something, why try to resist? Just give up. You got caught. People are so stupid. Dumbest shit ever. It's not worth the pain and aggravation (i.e. getting tased in the groin) to resist them or try and wrestle.

Have I done stupid shit in the past? Yes, but didn't always get caught. What did I do when I got caught? Fessed up like a man and took my punishment... People in this day and age (I'm not even that old ffs) don't ever want to admit that they were wrong, even when they've been caught red handed.

Does anyone else immediately see "schoolgirl" in the title and get turned on? Weird how that works. I dont care what it refers to.

People it all starts with the reason the officer first stop her and then began the confronted her. If he did not have any legal reason or "reasonable suspicion" to stop her and attempt to restrain her all his actions after that point are illegal and make him and the police department liable for his actions.

The article claims the officer attempted to make her move from the street, but was she doing anything illegal. the problem we all have is the missing 100 seconds of video, and the real reason the officer stop her. If he did not have a legal reason to engage her then everything else is mute.

If you look at the video at the end, looks like security officer came out of the wood work and they even had another kid restrained. Something was happening on that school grounds and it all came to a head in 100 sec.

So reading on resisting arrest

http://shafercrimlaw.wordpress.com/2...isting-arrest/
http://www.constitution.org/uslaw/defunlaw.htm
http://www.legalmatch.com/law-librar...ul-arrest.html

You maybe in your right to resist an unlawful arrest but you could end up dead for being right. Welcome to the police State of America

So if you adamantly believe you're right... don't resist and let due process do its job... don't be a fucking hippie and start flayin your hands like you have a god damn gun... put your fucking hands behind your back and keep your fucking mouth shut.

Actually I am no hippie, far from that, I am about people rights and why should have to pay 10 of thousands of $ to defined myself against the police and there wrong doing. You right, the courts and lawyers will tell you let due process work. However they make money when the police are wrong.

The other thing, you have no clue what the girl in the video was doing, you assuming she was resisting arrest.

Remember this saying

Quote:
First they came for the communists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.

Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me.
No one thought the what Nazi was doing at the time was wrong either.

You missed my point, My point is our government has created laws which basically allows the police to pretty much do what they like research qualified immunity. All police know about this law, which you obviously do not know about. Unless you able to prove the officer knowingly violated your rights there is not a thing you can do about it. Suing police is not a easy thing even when they were wrong. Imagine if you can go around and pretty much do what you like without any repercussions.

This is part of the reason you are seeing so many case like the above and many other similar cases. Trust me you do not want any sort of run in with the police it will cost you way more than you think these days. Trust me as a kid growing up and having a few run in with police and the worse thing that happen was getting a ride home in the police car and have your dad whip your ass, today it is far more costly.

Yes, and it all comes down to the individual knowing their rights. Can't blame the cops for you not knowing what the fuck your rights are.

Thank ALL of you for taking the reasonable approach here! Restores my faith in humanity. Tazing, while unpleasant is far less damaging than most other forms of submission. Besides, she'd probably have sued him for groping her if he had continued with hands on.

Well it says she was fighting with the officer (The officer claims the girl resisted arrest and elbowed him in the chin, the lawsuit claims he grabbed her from behind without identifying himself and shoved her into the car.

Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...#ixzz1gehKkOqy)
So I guess its OK to hit an officer and not expect repercussions? But at the same time he didnt identify himself? Very weird scenario.

In hindsight I think he jumped the gun but who knows.

the fact that they submitted an edited version of the video tells me the officer had a reason to taze her.
