M3 Non-communication with INPA

For some reason i'm not able to communicate with any ECUs or pick up the Vin even in NCSEXPERT. AT first I was thinking something was communicating with the ECU preventing INPA from reading. It's almost the vin faulty error that I get when I forget to turn off my JB4 prior to coding my car. I use this cable daily my 335xi(worked when I hooked up) and many other e9x series vehicles. Has anyone encountered this or am I doing something wrong? Unless I need to update the dates. Thank you in advance. -TK
