Cost to repaint a door

Does anyone have any idea? Got a ding with paint scratches on the drivers side door and went to a couple dent repair places but all said gotta be repainted.
I am talking high quality job that's pretty much indistinguishable from the factory paint (not Maaco).
It's jet black.
Thanks.

For Chicago folks, any recommendations in Schaumburg area?

I would think the local dealers are good to ask. Certified BMW collision--- that way they'll match the paint and the orange peel effect from the factory. It's an art.

my guess is it would be at least $1500-$1700 based on how much it costs to fix a rear bumper...it's about the same process and time.

If it's a major dent and paint scrape, you're going to want to use the insurance and pay the deductible.

Everyone mentions a BMW certified shop. Be very careful of these also as they could be just as bad as the shop down the block. Just cause they're certified doesn't mean anything. That being said, does the whole door need to be refinished or can they refinish within the door itself. If the door is scraped front to back then the fender and rear 1/4 will also need to be blended for color match with a full clear which means the tailight, headlight and front/rear bumpers need to be dropped.

In any event what you're asking can't be answered accurately without pics or going to a shop for an estimate.

you should post up some pics. from the way you described it it doesn't sound like it's too bad. you'd be surprised what detailing can do
