Lease advice
Need some advice on a lease end. I have a low residual on my lease with only 21000 miles. Thinking about getting another m3 vs buying out the lease. Dealer I bought it from said that if they make it a CPO I would get a better deal than buying it directly as I would get a better finance rate on a CPO. They would give me the 6year/100000 mile warranty for 5100 and my residual is 37500. Total would be around 45000 with new tires, but without extended maintenance plan which is another 3200. Another service advisor (who actually tracks his m3) at a different dealership that is much larger says that is BS because the cost to certifiy an m3 is around 8000 alone and he has never heard of doing that in his 12 years of selling bmws. This is confusing. Have any of you heard of doing a CPO on a lease or do most just buy from BMW financial directly?

8k to CPO a car? That sounds wrong. I worked at a Porsche dealer and the cost to certify was only 2k. If it really was 8k to CPO a car, it would make CPO'd vehicles too expensive imo.

Is there always a separate cost to CPO or do you just pay the the extended warranty? The first dealer didn't even mention a seperate CPO cost. Trying to decide if I should get another e92 and don't want to get screwed on this buy out.

With those numbers do you think I should keep or get another m3? I have the new car itch a little. I love my M3 and have always been a huge BMW/M fan but have also been considering going to the dark side for a while with the new c63 amg that has the upgraded dcy tranny, suspension, and interior. Never had a merc before. I think I would get the sedan version as in the pictures tge rear quarter panel makes the coupe look like an accord. I think they are saving up the sculpting up for the new black series.

I owned three Mercedes in my life E-class, C-class and R-class all between 06-09 range. I personally will never buy another one again. All three have given me transmission problems
I personally would not go with Mercedes unless you plan just on leasing. Both information that you been given sound incorrect. The extended warranty 6/100K is around $3400 tops. What is your lease buyout if you decided to keep the car? If this price is low and you think you can sell it to another Private party for that price or more than sell the car and negotiate better term with your dealer. It sounds like they are trying to screw you. Also try using some of the dealer on the forum. They seem to be helpful. I have not used them since I got a good dealer that I am loyal but will ask them for a quote on my next purchase later this year to replace the wifes SUV.

I also think it depends on the particular warranty. They has 3 different plans ranging from around 3000 to 5900. The most expensive one called platinum amd mirrors the warranty that comes with the car.
