I was one of the ignorant people that cross shopped a 2011 Mustang GT with a BMW... at the time, a 135 (I looked at the 370z as well).
The 5.0 seemed to be very competent on the test drive, but still felt as if it wallowed around like a large car. (even though it clearly didn't) The interior still has quite a bit of room for improvement, but it was definitely leaps and bounds ahead of the old "rental fleet" Fords.

Thats why I bought the M3..although the Mustang made a compelling case I would rather coin up and get the M3, which is what I did. Ford comes at us in 2014 MY with a new Mustang and I feel this one is the one in which Ford will really do everything right. There has been a teutonic shift at Ford where they finally realize that "almost isn't good enough anymore", like it was in the past.
