I really don't think that a cast wheel (OE quality) can be lighter than our 19" forged. The only ones with a lighter, better wheel are RAC. HRE MonoBlocs are heavier and BBS wheels are heavier.

I guess we will see...

So far, I am glad to be getting my RAC wheels.

RAC Wheels, Brembo Kit, Dinan suspension= priceless

It will be available in Europe, either. Option code for Germany is 7MA: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthr...34#post6599034

O.P.
in regards to title of thread:

"Official 2011 M3 Competition (ZCP package) pricing and details -- From BMW NA"

What does "From BMW NA" means? (well I know "NA" it stands for north america)

Does it mean it is avail for US? or does it mean "N"-not "A"-avail? Not Available?

...just kiddn, but I would like to know... I think its worth $2.5k for satggered and better wheel and 1 centimeter lower suspension...

A bit of a buzz kill- looks like BMW Performance will be the one to bring in the GTS parts aside from the wheels and springs.

The DSC would need to be reconfigured for the wider wheels- that is more than likely all it is but once the individual press release comes we should no more.

Fo shizzle, mapezzul. Or let's hope so at least.

Maybe. But from what was said in the other thread, they are going to use the same width tires as the normal M3 (245 front, 265 rear) despite the wider wheel. In theory the contact patch would still be a tiny bit different due to the wider wheel, but I don't necessarily think that is what the DSC changes are. Footie seems to be saying it will indeed be a harder core version of MDM.

good luck getting that thing for the extra of $2500. You know dealers are going to gouge the market with their mark-ups.

The additional wheel offset will change the behavior as well. I suspect that the DSC changes are to accommodate this if anything, for MDM as well. The EDC changes are to match the springs and probably deal with the reduction in fender lip clearance.

Better handling I have no doubt but under ideal conditions. One pothole or the marginal crap I drive on even in Southern California, no thanks. I did not check the box for the 19" wheels for this very reason.

I was wondering if ZCP/7MA would include anything else as more power, nicer exhaust, or better brakes might have made it worthwhile (even for more money) but apparently not. While that makes me glad about my 2010 it kind of bums me because it probably won't be any different for my 2012.

EDC is definitely not included in the package. It's just that the ZCP package will require the ZTP package. Or it might just require EDC. However, I do doubt the latter. The reason is, I am pretty sure the retuned DSC will be in the form of a more aggressive MDM mode. And MDM, as we all know, is only available with ZTP.

Possible, sure. I am sticking with my hunch that this will be an improved MDM that is genuinely less intrusive than the already lesser intrusive MDM on the standard car, and it will be a noticeable improvement.

M3 ZCP = FAIL
UNLESS------> M3 ZCP faster than RS5
BMW maybe did not want to spend much money on making the M3 better, and ZCP was enough to improuve M3 for little money and still make it better than C63 AMG and RS5.
But I think they still could take some other parts from the M3 GTS:
>brakes
>titanium exhaust
>BMW Performance seats in M3 style
But I remember the interview with the boss of BMW Performance: maybe they are preparing some parts as for example:
>brakes
>exhaust
>coilover
>carbon intaike with KN filter (as there is for X30i E8X/E9X)
>carbon parts (mirrors, lip/splitters, diffusor, spoiler, interior trim)
>gloss black trim
>short-shifter-kit (for 6MT as there is for X30i and X35i E8X/E9X)
>lightweight front seats

Well we'll see.

I posted a lifetime ago that the introduction of Mercedes performance package was in direct reaction to the soon to be launched RS5 and that M-Division would be following suit with their only enhancements. If I remember correctly quite a few thought such a comment was pure Fanboy ranting from..........how is it they put it 'the biggest Fanboy on this forum' and yet here we are, who was right all along.

Has BMW done enough to see off the RS5?

Funny you should mention that because a few of us have been privately debating this very thing. I suppose only when they meet will we finally get a idea as to that very question.

This is a very good package for the price, but it's definitely not a competition package...it's basically just a wheel package with some supporting mods to make the wheels work well with the car.

The fact that they used the competition name for this package tells me that we probably won't see a more serious version of the E9x M3 unless they begin selling Performance or Motorsport branded parts which I think would be great.

Also, considering how thoroughly the M3 hands the competition its ass on the track in pretty much every test I've ever watched or read, I don't think they're exactly worried about even the RS5...last I heard it was only a 30hp bump over the RS4 and not a whole lot else that would help it regain the ground it loses to the M3 on a track (Top Gear found the RS4 and C63 equal with the M3 5 seconds ahead, I think it was Driver's Republic that also found the M3 roughly 5 seconds ahead of the C63 and IS-F)

Because it's an old spy photo that's already been posted. Photos of the M3 with ZCP competition package have not yet been released.

Not official ones, anyway It's safe to assume that the spy photo(s) is of the ZCP/7MA package.
