Exclamation Official 2011 M3 Competition (ZCP package) pricing and details -- From BMW NA

As reported on M3post Homepage

M Models M3 Packages/Options

M3 E90/E92: The Competition Package is added at a retail price of $2,500. The package further enhances the highly responsive chassis by installing 19” wheels with greater offset for a wider track, and a 10mm lower suspension. Combined with Electronic Damping Control and Dynamic Stability Control, both remapped for better corning, makes the M3 Coupe or Sedan with this package about the best handling production M car ever built. This new package includes:
  • Electronic Damping Control with new Sport mode mapping
  • 19” wheels (style 359M) with performance tires
  • Lowered M suspension
  • Modified DSC mapping

The MSRP of MY2011 M3 Sedan, Coupe, and Convertible remain unchanged at $56,275, $59,275, and $67,925, respectively. All prices include $875 Destination & Handling. The Competition Package is available on the Coupe and Sedan models for $2,500.

* This was in a bulletin this morning along with the official updates for March production. (i.e. 335is, etc)

Official press release on the 2011 M3:

Quote:
The M3 Coupe, Sedan, and Convertible models become 2011 models this spring. BMW ups the ante on the M3 Coupe and Sedan by offering a new “Competition Package” for MY2011. The package further enhances the highly responsive chassis by installing a 10mm lower suspension and 19” wheels with greater offset for a wider track. Combined with remapped Electronic Damping Control and Dynamic Stability Control systems, the M3 with Competition Package is the best handling production M car ever built.

The MSRP of MY2011 M3 Sedan, Coupe, and Convertible remain unchanged at $56,275, $59,275, and $67,925, respectively. All prices include $875 Destination & Handling. The Competition Package is available on the Coupe and Sedan models for $2,500.

A few more points from Mr.D regarding the color choices and other options:

Quote:
Gents, I've put through my 2011 M3 ZCP order, for April Delivery, and I can confirm the following:

1. 19" GTS Wheels but in Silver
2. EDC Upgrade
3. 10MM Lower Springs

Frozen Grey is available, but not until August Production, as the UK has all of the Frozen Grey spots until then. Apparently, in March, the UK will receive a Frozen Grey edition..don't know the contents except colour.

Black Trim (Grill, Exhaust, etc) from the 2010 Edition Model is NOT available..the supplier ended production and they won't do one-offs anymore. I pressed and pressed, but no dice..

Black GTS wheels ARE available, but not until August production (IE after the GTS are delivered to customers)

Other note: I tried ordering the BMW Performance seats as an individual item, to no avail.

Well, you can't expect much for a cheezy $2500.

I Googled that style wheel and couldn't find an image, does anyone have one?

So where did you see this info? At the dealer? Do you work at a dealer? If this is quoted exactly from the BMW ordering system then it appears our long time question about 2011 e90 M3's is answered.

Can you give us more info?

Thanks!

I somehow doubt the new DSC mode is any better than MDM.

The rims are nice, though.

And at least at $2500 it's not an expensive option, really.

Well, it's a little more than the combined cost of the EDC and 19" options... I guess the extra $ goes to the wheels?

No upgraded brakes? More direct steering ratio? No new color intorduction? No cosmetic touches like alcantara or new trim?

In terms of an "upgrade" that is not very impressive. I would put the $2,500 towards an upgraded brake package.

Isn't the normal 19" upgrade $1200? So for $1300 you get lowering springs and some different programming. Talk about smoking the competition with this package.

I'm still puzzled that the revised DSC setting isn't mentioned in the German price list. Nevermind, that's none of NA customers' business.

Best regards,
south

I took it to mean that EDC would be required to purchase this package not that it included EDC in the package price. Well if it is included then the breakdown is:

$1200 19" wheels
$1000 EDC
$300 springs and software

I guess that isn't so bad, but there still is no competition in my mind.

That's it? I mean sure if I were ordering now I would consider that package, but an Eibach Pro Kit and some spacers can achieve pretty similar results for about $2K less

The bulletin says that the only hardware change to the suspension is the new springs, but it's safe to assume that BMW is including other changes to account for the new spring rates, right? New shocks, bump stops, guide supports, etc? Or are they really only updating the springs, and will it be as simple as ordering those springs for those of us who want to retrofit the suspension on our cars?
