True. I've had this exact scenario happen several times at a couple different tracks: I've been faster than every GTR I've seen on the track if it's driven by it's owner. The only time I've ever been passed by a GTR, it was being driven by an instructor/pro driver at the time.

I've driven one fairly extensively and the only thing impressive is the level of grip and acceleration. Other than that, it doesn't really spark much emotion when driving it. But it's all about personal preference. I mean there are people who think Audi S4/S5's are fun cars and those were one of the numbest driving experiences I've ever had.

GT-R is probably top 2 out of all cars I am genuinely interested in going for a ride in. The launch capabilities and the unexplainable insane performance seem to break all conventional norms of car stats vs performance. The launch control alone on it seems to bend the laws of physics.
The GT-R to me is a big head turner because of I know what it can do and it has presence because it's a large car with an unorthodox look (possibly ugly?). If I knew nothing of its capabilites I might think it's quite ugly. But man this car has presence. The M3 has it on sound and looks for me. Also the M3 is more subtle which is important for me. |

the "middle video" is me getting my ass handed to me by a FBO e85 tuned GT-R. My guess is I'd need at least another 50 whp to be competitive. by comparison, here is a video of me running an exhaust and COBB 91 octane tune GT-R...the higher octane tunes is where the GT-R is king as its pretty much "free power" if you upgrade the injectors, not sure if they need a fuel pump upgrade? ...a GT-R with an e85 tune, an intake and an exhaust and you get a nearly untouchable monster. Not sure what an exhaust or intake would run on a GT-R, bigger injectors are probably around $1500...tune $1500? My guess is it's a lot less invested than an intercooled SC kit on an M3. We were both running 94 octane pump gas. For some reason 220kph+ I gain on him all the way until 312kph (digital) Is it the difference in weight?

I'd love to man, but they're sold out. Probably don't have the tires for that journey right now anyways. Autobahn next year. Great track.

Agreed. I feel so connected to the car. Few months back I wated to get a Gtr. I did not transition becuase how disconnected the driver feels driving te Gtr and m5s. My boosted m3 can hang with best of cars and with my suspension is very well planted. It will be very hard replacing this m3

This thread was good for a laugh this morning. thanks guys
The dude that tuned my GTR has a VSS supercharged M3. Although it is a very very slick setup there is no way in hell it would be able to hang with a moderately tuned GTR and as for the guys saying they pass GTRs on track, it must be the driver then. I rarely get passed by anything on track ever but in those few occasions that I do its usually a GT or Cup car with a really good driver
