I went with the E92 M3 because I like the design. I had seen the E90 M3, sat in it, drove it, it's nice but I just like the coupe. I've allways owned 4 door sedans and SUV's and wanted a coupe. I'm single and when my kids visited, it was no problem at all. Just my personnel taste.

Hang on a bleedin minute.... I've always said one wasn't better than the other it's just preference on coupe or sedan. However. Popular consensus is dictated by sales and you don't need me to tell you which has sold more

Interesting results so far. And in line with my conjecture that the ratio of E90 M3 seems to be increasing, at least on this forum which is probably a good representation of the overall trend.

E90 M3
I have owned 4 m3s. 2 E36s, 1 E46 and now my 09 E90 M3. I have a 9 year old son and my girlfriend has older kids. Although I went through the hassle and put every back seat passenger through the hassle of climbing into the back for years, I finally bought a sedan and LOVE it!! The convenience factor along with the same old M3 fun is great.

E90 is a no brainer really, looks better, higher convenience factor - when I had an RS4 sedan my worry was the E90 M3 would be heavier and less agile than the coupe...but BMW got it right and the sedan is just as quick and handles just as well as the coupe...
Will be interesting to see the differences in depreciation between the coupe and sedan... |

I have an E92. I think it has very sexy lines but I agree with another member who said that the E90 looks more muscular. If I could buy it again, I'd buy an 08' E90 (don't like the 09's rear lights at all) because of its practicality. Mind you, I'm not married yet, taking the plunge next year, so the coupe fits my lifestyle at the moment.
Either way, I wouldn't regret either one.

I actually like the '09 rear lights better. They look much more sporty and stylish. |

Mine are dark grey matching the car. Look the best by far. Can you get the 19's with the 80's chrome effect? I've only seen them with the shiny finishe. They might be better in a dark or matt finish. |
