Even if everyone here tells you that your mates are right and you should have gone with DCT what are you then going to do? Just drive the car and enjoy!

Different strokes for different folks but if you ask me, get a 6MT. It's a blast unless you plan to be in a lot of traffic, like dd it to work during rush hour. In that case I'd go DCT.

Sure if you idea of fun is playing with a knob...

Jesus Christ, it seems like every week we get one of these idiotic posts.

How about you drive what you like and don't give a rat's ass about what your friend's think?

Should I pick the dark blue paint or the light blue paint? (which color is faster?)

Couldn't we have a permanent "Thread" that encapsulates all of these similar, eh, discussed-into-the-ground topics, and then just point an OP at them?

I'm not trying to be totally mean, but before I started writing anything on M3Post, I lurked and read a bunch before opening my big mouth. I already knew not to ask about colors, options, transmissions, etc.

I definitely can sympathize as someone looking in on the M brand. My concern isn't whether it's 6mt it's whether the 6mt in the m3 is up to the job. I've heard so many poor ratings and reviews I don't know what to get either. Makes me think its a 1M or nothing. Coming from an s2k which I feel is one of the best feeling trannys of all time makes me nervous too lol. To spend that kind of dough on a sub par shifting experience is not what I want to be doing. I suggest you do as other have suggested and try one out, I know I will be.
