My M3 came in today....with 2 more doors than I wanted....
So FINALLY my new Space grey M3 coupe came in today. The dealership calls me and says: "Hey we have some good news and some bad news." The good news is that your car came in. The bad news is that it has 2 extra doors."
I said, "excuse me" and then she went on to explain that for some reason they received a 4 door M3 when I ordered a 2 door!!!!! So now they called Germany and got me in to the next possible order, delivery estimated for the end of June! What a bummer huh? I asked the sales lady if there will be any discount to due the error and just assured me that they could take good care of me. But I assume that the best they will do is a couple grand....And I would rather get my car now!! Just had to share my story I hope you guys don't have the same experience. |

My dealer would update me with where the car was, the boat, the trailer etc. Its not my responsibility to make sure they sent the right car. The dealer ordered my car, and they claim that bmw sent them the wrong car. But I think they screwed up the order some how.

the coupe is available in SG, not the sedan. And it might very well be that the dealer was innocent. unlikely but possible. And a couple thousand dollars of an M3 or any other new BMW. ???? Yes, right....
and PM me the facts on the car and the dealership and i should be able to tell you what happened.

OK, now I am really beginning to wonder about BMW. I was just posting on how f'ed up the online tracking is, and then I see somebody get the wrong car. Oh man....this is getting ugly.

they gave your car to the owner's nephew as a graduation present, and pulled a fast one over on you.

i seriously think they changed the specs on him, or gave his car away for over MSRP and trying to pull a scam on him. this is waaay too shady. BMW is stupid, but they're not THAT stupid. altho they assume their customers are very fucking stupid to try and pull this shit on them

What is really be the likelihood that BMW sent the wrong car. Or that when the cars were unloaded they sent the wrong car to the dealership. Or is it more likely that the dealership screwed up the order.... but how did the car come in the wrong model, color and with 19 inches when I order the car with 18s....

What would be the best way to get to the bottom of this, I don't have the vin number of what the original order was supposed to be. So if I wanted to call BMW of North America and attempt to inquire how would I go about that? I am beginning to think that someone pulled a favor, or paid a premium and is driving my car right now. Its just so hard to believe that the order could have been that screwed up...

you should have been given a VIN. If you can check online and see if it matches up to the car they gave you. if not then someone screwed up pretty bad along the way.

I was never given a Vin number. They also told me that I wouldn't have to pay their 5k premium they usually charge. Perhaps someone came along that was ready to pay it, so they pulled the switch? If I can get the vin number of the car that they say was the "mistake" that would certainly help. Either way I don't have much leverage, I made the deposit over the phone and specified the specs over the phone, because the owners of the dealership are family friends. So I was being taken care of, the sales person was handling me as a "vip" but never sent me a vin number or anything along those lines. So I don't have any paper work on the car, just the fact that I made the deposit and there should be an order with my name on it.

I was given nothing. Also I have a question regarding what it says when you track the car on the online with the production number or the vin number. For example the salesperson said that she was looking at my car online, and that it would be arriving next week (now this week). Would it say M3 coupe online, with all the specs? So wouldn't they know ahead of time that the car was in fact not the proper spec?
