If it wasn't 40 degrees right now I would give you some data. I'll be on track staurday and will. Post temp. But until summer I have any related data to compare to.

For whatever reason the full image isn't that full. Get out on the track and get us some data.

If anyone wants specific shots of the cooler installed let me know in the next couple days and I can get them for you. I also have pics of the area that needed cutting to fit this significantly larger core if anyone is interested.

Please post pics of your install including what parts required cutting.

Thanks!

So, how does this cooler compare to M24 oil cooler?

Here are the pics as promised. Apologies for the poor quality. They were taken with my iPhone in poor lighting conditions. This also gives clearance pics between the radiator and P/S cooler, although you might need to be familiar with the layout to decipher what's what. Though it's close in some areas, the cooler does not contact anything other than the mounting points. Making the cuts with a dremel tool using a bit took less than 5 minutes. Extremely straightforward install. I'm waiting to hear back from Aleks now on the best way to initially add the right amount of oil before start-up since I believe flow to the cooler does not occur until the oil reaches a certain temp which would mean adding enough for the new cooler and sump would overfill the crankcase until the oil reached operating temp. Not really clear on this but will update once I hear back from Aleks. If anyone has any install questions feel free to ask.

Here is an extremely crude overlay of the portion that needs to be removed. Pull off the flexible rubber lip that runs around the perimeter of the front scoop, pop off the inner plastic shroud held on by about 12 tabs (you'll understand when you have the bumper off), and the area in red is approx what needs to be removed.

On the oil issue, did you notice a bunch of oil come out of the OEM cooler when you removed it? I bet that even when oil is not flowing through the oil coler, there's a bunch left behind in the cooler itself.

If so, I suspect you might drive the car up to operating temp, let the car start pumping oil through the cooler, then add as needed.

I would estimate i got something around 1 quart out of both the cooler and lines when removed. It was a bit less than I thought would come out. So in theory right now my sump is at the max level (where it was before removing the cooler) and the cooler will not take any from the sump until the thermostat opens at XXX degrees. Aleks recommended adding two quarts to the sump prior to startup and alternatively stated I could just add one quart, let the cooler take on the oil from the sump at temperature, and then add a second quart to get the level back to where it needs to be. I expressed my concern about over-pressurizing the crankcase but he stated it wouldn't be detrimental unless I was running the car hard, which I do not intend to do.

Long story short, I will add the quart, let the car run to temp, check oil level, *hope e-dipstick is accurate*, and then top off as required with the additional quart.
