Beautiful car, congrats. Sharing the fun with your kids is priceless, that is until they ask you for the keys

Haha...I actually went to get it with my 18 year old daughter. She asked when she gets to drive it and the answer was an unequivocal "never!" I have quite the age range in our house...thankfully the daughter is off to college in a week. I don't know if I have been happier driving the car or enjoying my 12 year old son's reactions. There's nothing like seeing one of your kids giddy with excitement about a shared interest

Before I bought the m3 I owned a cervini's mustang supercharged with 550 hp I sold it to put the money towards the BMW my son was devastated we couldn't do what he called "roller coaster " he would love when I floored the car and the supercharger would kick in I told him give me some more time and this car will be the same way . Its funny the way boys are they want to grow up and be just like daddy. Congratulations and good luck with the purchase .
Sounds like we both got great deals on our dream cars and have sons to share the fun with!

Congrats on the M3! I love the lemans blue. I just joined this family 3-4 weeks ago coming from a 2008 e90 335i and I purchased a Alpine White e92 M3, Redfox interior competition package. I cannot wipe the smile off my face. What a huge difference between 335i and the M3. I like them both for different reasons.

Op. Do you have an issue with your drivers seat bolster ? Where it looks like the leather dye has worn a little just curious how many people have this issue . I'm trying to get mine covered on the new car warranty

Awesome that your son shares your passion. I'm jealous! My kids have zero interest in cars and my wife thinks I am the walking definition of a mid-life crisis. If my dad would have had the kind of cars I have he would not have been able to keep me out of them!

No seat bolster wear on mine. Previous owner was bad at curbing wheels and had clammy hands but the leather is showroom quality still. My dealership replaced starter button and shift knob (dct) under warranty due to plastic peeling. They are waiting for a response regarding the steering wheel being covered. I did have bolster wear on my 2007 e92 335i, but not my 2011 e90 335d. I am trying to be more careful getting in and out so as not to have it with this car, but who knows?

It sounds like the vast majority of our wives look at us that way! My older daughter is thankfully into pickup trucks and body on frame suvs so a beatup explorer has suited her fine and saves me money. Not sure what I am going to do when my 12 year old is old enough to drive. He would wreck that suv going around a corner too fast (I know because I totalled 2 cars between 16 and 17 before I switched to sportier cars) My dad worked for GM and got a new company car every 3-6 months....I loved them. I laugh now but I remember thinking that the pontiac bonneville was the coolest car on the planet.....hahahahaha.

Getting stuff like that covered under warranty, seems to depend on the mood of the shop foreman. While I was sitting down with the Service rep on friday he told me it was all on the way you worded it. Like the bolster for example not to say it was worn but to say it was peeling. I guess that would be the difference between wear and tear and factory defect . Glad to see you getting your stuff in a warranty

So true! I drive out of my way to do all my service at Sonnen BMW because they have done nothing but be a class act for my 9 years of bmw ownership. The real trick is finding an SA that you click with and who knows the ins and outs of documenting problems and who will fight for you. I also always remember to show my appreciation now and then via restaurant gift cards or something nice. I only deal with the same people and I make an effort to get to know the loaner car guys and staff. I would probably say that the good service experience has done more to keep me in a BMW than the cars themselves! I know...sounds crazy.
