But besides that, thanks for the wealth of info captain obvious regarding the m3/m6 comparison on the track.
yeah, no worries. The M3 is def better than the M6 on the track. When it gets twisty, you can feel the weight of the M6. Like I said before, its more of a grand cruiser that sounds exotic than a track toy.

Even though is covered by warranty, I won't like being stranded on the road waiting for the service car to pick up. And the clutch, it doesn't last too much and very expensive.
So I don't know, I guess I need to see it first.

Enjoy your M6!!
Amen bro. I went back and forth for a while on the SMG, I was scared to death after reading m5board.com. However with a CPO, the only liability is if the clutch itself gets worn out. Anything else, the warranty covers. I'm good buddies with my SA and we went over it in detail.

I do think about getting stranded once in a while, LOL. I just pray it never happens to me.

I would try to find a car with NO previous replacement or issues. It seems that the cars with issues are reocurring for some reason.

Good luck.

Thanks man. But the M3 sounds amazing as well, but different. The sound of the intake / motor with the sunroof open I would drive to work everyday on a certain route just to hear the noise. E90 M3 is one of the best sounding cars around, IMO.

And sounds better inside with the windows up than the M6, btw.

+1

I had an AMG owner in my car, he complained on how quiet my stock exhaust sounded...that changed when we hit an interstate entrace ramp.
He couldnt believe how quiet it could be under light loud and yet get load under wot.
He said this thing sounds like a race car...that intake growl,oh my!

Cant believe 4 years went by so fast bought it for $59k new and sold it for $40k w/34k miles on it. $19k depreciation over 4 years - nice!! NO ISSUES with the car in 4 years other than a sunroof rattle here and there. Pretty amazing for an M car - my previous 2 M3's had a few issues. I had a manual, and was itching to move into another M3 DCT or an M5 DCT. I was looking for quite a while for the right car, then stumbled across an 08 M6 SMG w/ eisenmann race exhaust and 2 more years of CPO... I didnt think I was going to buy it, but it was LOCAL so figured what the heck I'll check it out. Started up the car and it was quite loud, put it in gear and SOLD! LOL. High revving V10 with an Eisenmann Race is out of this world. I was giggling up and down the highway on ramps.

Anways, they are both very different cars built for slighly different purpose. The M6 is a laid back, exotic sounding, rich dude's car, that can kick it when needed. However it does feel a bit heavy vs. the M3. The m3 is obviously more sporty and eager, however its not as luxurious inside or on the highway.

Both fabulous cars, I think I was ready for something larger with more luxury for my needs - I drive on long, straight, flat roads everyday - so the M6 fits the bill. Plus the V10 is to die for.

I'll miss the M3... its last of the amazing high revving M cars and has a classic but aggresive design... enjoy

.

FAIL................

Just kidding, enjoy the S85

Cheers,

seriously, I think what's lost on a lot of people here is that various owners use their cars for different purposes.

Some track, some don't, some have families and need for 4 doors, some dont', some need moonroof, some don't, some want a unqiue color, some don't, some know how to drive 6MT, some don't....you get the pattern...lol.

The V10 has more top end on the highway, but other than that they're probably a wash. The V10 has more torque but weighs more, and its a bigger car. I think the M3 is faster 0 to 60. They're both plenty fast around town to me!

What's new about your M6?

How is it going?

I am still interested in the same switch, so please let me know your impressions so far.

The best sounding BMW production engine without a doubt except for Mc F1. There are few engines that sound better then the S65 E9x M3 and you found it. This M6 V10 makes the M3 V8 look tame in comparison......great exotic sound......also on the plus side you get a lot more torque..

Congrats. I considered the M6 as well, the MPG, size, and subjectively looks are the only things that held me back. I love them.

If you want to make the m3 sound exotic... get the Dinan X pipe and pair it up with something like AKRA... it makes me smile everyday. Very exotic.
