No front plate ticket

So it looks like El Segundo PD got me while I was parked and eating lunch at PF Chang's.

Ticket says:

Due now
$38.00
WITH PROOF OF CORRECTION $10.00

---

I'm assuming this means that if I correct it, I can show them and pay $10, or I can just send them $38 and keep driving without a plate?

ya u probably have to show up at court and prove it.

my opinion pay the 38.00 and go on without a front plate.

I have been driving without a front plate since January. I still have yet to get pulled over for it. Knock on wood! We should do a poll and see who's gone the longest without getting pulled over.

I used to never get these. But when I wrapped my car matte flashy blue, I was getting pulled over weekly (1 ticket out of 3 pull overs). I finally caved in and just put on my front plate. My opinion is that if your car isn't flashy or loud, just pay the ticket and don't put the front plate on. The M3 looks so much better without the front plate.

8 years: acura TL-S , G37s , viper srt-10 , z06 all no front plate never stopped. with that being said i knock on wood i never get stopped for it but if I do its not the end of the world its like 55 dollars in NJ. I would rather pay for them then have an ugly ass front plate drilled into my front bumper

Ya, I don't really want to put a plate on. I just wanted to make sure that I didn't have to pay $38 now, put a plate on, and another $10 later or something like that. lol

It's worth the extra $28 to not have to go to court or the PD or anything.

Ya, I'm mostly stock and nothing too obvious - led angel eyes, painted reflectors, and m3 perf exhaust. They got my with my car parked in a parking lot.

Yeah man towns and cities really need money these days... they go thru all the parking lots in towns by me with plate scanners and do expired registration tickets

plus its definitely different if your driving an 80k dollar sports car or a 1990 honda civic. no front plate cause u dont have a bumper lol or caues u dont want to drill into your mint car .

alot of my fam is LEOs and I respect them doin their jobs its just part of the car game

If there's a mail in option, I'd send a photo with it on using double sided sticky tape, so I could remove it. Enclose the $10 check + photo.

On the back of the ticket is a box that an officer fills out to show that the problem was corrected. I'd imagine that I'll need to get that done in order to get the $10 price.

Otherwise, it appears that I can just pay the ticket via credit card over the web.

I put my front plate in the windshield when I park and they let me slide.

As for the $10 vs $38. If you put the plate on and go to the station and show them, they will stamp the ticket and then you owe $10. Otherwise, just pay $38.

Where was the car parked? If you park in a private lot, then you shouldn't get a ticket. City lot or on the street they'll get you.

I was parked in PF Chang's parking lot. I heard that the El Segundo PD is known to do parking lot sweeps from time to time.

I believe so. I looked it up and it appears that you're only safe on private property that isn't publicly assessable. While a shopping center parking is private, it's publicly assessable.

That's nothing, I'd just pay it. The $28 isn't worth the hassle.

The ONLY thing I regret about moving to OR from SC is the front plate law here. I sucked it up and am using a Skene mount...it's a sin though.
