Post 2011.5 not getting tint scratches? Replacement Part?

Is it true that post 2011.5 E90 are not getting any tint scratches because both the pieces of the window trim are felt lined?

If so - can't I just ordered the replacement part and have them updated? The reason I ask is that I had tint protector that worked well for a few years... until the adhesive gave up and peeled off. (which became a huge sticky mess)

Hey--sorry to bump this thread, but I figured I'd bump it rather than starting a new one.

My tint (which was done by the guy from whom I bought the car) is becoming streaked and scratched. If I could arrest it now, I could deal w it, but otherwise the tint will be ruined I by the end of the summer. Do I have to go to a tinting place to have felt or whatever applied, or is there something I can buy and do myself?

Thx!!!

not affiliated with them nor do I use their product, but this is what I've heard about: http://www.tintprotector.com/

I took my 07 E92 335i window seal apart the other day, it was made of felt. Yet the tint still gets scratched.

There's probably small particulate caught in the felt that's scratching the tint - not the felt itself. Most people who experience this issue just remove the felt altogether.

It's on my list of to do's when I have more time in the winter and then I'll have my guy apply fresh tint.
